I went to the hospital earlier this afternoon for a doctor check-up and a dental appointment. Might as well hit a few birds with one stone. I took the stairs to go six floors up (and down) rather than wait 10 years for the elevators. Exercise is always good.
I saw this woman stranger smile at me on my way up. She looked like a nice person. I dunno if she recognized me or she just smiled at a random faggot taking vids of himself go up the stairs. LOL.
Natasa Vojnovic is dat chu? Tina Turner is dat chu? Just kidding. You HAVE to give kudos to that woman for being so fierce and for having the moves. I had one chance to try it and no matter how many times I've watched her video, I simply could NOT pull her shit off. This is simply too painful (or funny??) to watch. Hahaha!
Belated happy birthday Rogelio. I hope you like your birthday present. It's a lame attempt, I know, but at least I tried!!!
In the future, I want whatever Natasa is having. That's all.
I can't even remember the last time I had a birthday party. I think it was about three or four years ago, I'm not sure. In any case, it's always nice to celebrate your birthday surrounded by great old friends and amazing new acquaintances. I had a little surprise birthday celebration at the Commons&Sense Magazine + A Shaded View on Fashion party at Le Baron de Paris. As my favourite style icon Diane said, I sure did get the 'rockstar treament'.
Baby Mary of Faline, Jun Takahashi of Undercover, my dearest Yoshiko, the fabulous Yuya, the iconic Diane Pernet, Yoshiko of Yoshiko Creation Paris and of course, Shun (of Vogue Hommes Japan) in the background -- I can hear your voice!
Thank you so much to everyone who made my birthday special. Tokyo rocks!
Run, BB, run! I went to Houhai Park in Beijing with Alain and Danica. It was so cold the lake was frozen! Good luck trying to run in those shoes, on ice.
Gawd. I've never laughed so hard in my entire life.
I went to Beijing and all I got was a bloody t-shirt. Just kidding. Here's a video of me mincing around the Nanluoguxiang Hutong district of Beijing. Hutongs are these traditional and ancient Chinese alleyways that are almost very rare to find in this city of enormous buildings.
Funny how my Spanish friend Ate Danica (the one with the green scarf) didn't bat an eyelash when I walked past him. Hahaha! We were so pressed for time so I didn't get the chance to check out each and every shop but I did end up buying a t-shirt that says "I <3 BJ". Hysterical!
My newfound acquaintances in Beijing made me ride the subway yesterday en route to a housewarming party and boy I had fun. You know, I would like to use the subway more but walking in Beijing is such a bitch. It's a MASSIVE city and for me, it's so much easier if I cab it.
Each ride on the subway (you can go ANYWHERE within Beijin) costs 2 Yuan which is like oh bloody hell, thirty US cents? Dang!!!
I was gonna take a few shots earlier this afternoon but the weather is crap. I'll try to get some tonight and first thing tomorrow morning.
Uhhh I look so busted! HAHAHAHA.
I hope y'all are enjoying the festive season. I know many of you are on 'holiday' mode and there are some, like me, who has to werq, werq, werq, 24/7/365. Ah well.
Bryanboy for Steven Meisel and Vogue Italia is dat chu? I'm so swamped with work I thought I'd take a break from it all and play around the the webcam with friendly internet randoms...
Oh the HILARITY... I swear to god I cannot stop laughing watching these vids you are about to see. It's like reading an old copy of Vogue Italia while smoking crack. Just kidding!
7:14AM and my face looks busted! I got here like about half hour ago and I've had no sleep at all! As always, I packed at the very last minute. Woe is me.
I also got a haircut yesterday. I wanna replicate what they did for me in Singapore but alas, I didn't get what I wanted.
Well, the secret is out of the bag. As some of you already know, I did a quick shoot for Singapore's Style Magazine and my solo editorial will come out in a few weeks. It's gonna be awesome I'm telling you. I did several looks... girls, boys (there's this GREAT scene involving a banana but I don't think it's gonna get published), mixed and everything in between! I'm so excited...and nervous at the same time! I hope I'm capable of giving good pictures. Hah! Here's a quick video of me trying to WERK one of the looks for the camera. The key word is TRYING. LOL.
Trust me, getting the right shot for that look was harder than I thought. My legs are so short, stumpy and thick. Ugh! Sometimes I wish I was 6'2 but oh well. Nothing I can do about that...
I went out on Thursday night with some of Singapore's lovely fashion bloggers. I wanted to have a quick dance before I go to sleep so we ended up at this club called "Play". Most of the gay clubs were closed but that's Singapore for you.
Anyway, the bouncer let us in for free. Natch! I was wondering where all the guys were... turns out, it was a lesbian night! I only realized this after 10 minutes of dancing and I saw chicks snogging on the stage!
It's all fun and good. It's quite interesting (and refreshing) though to go to a lesbian club especially in this conservative city/state. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong but I don't even think there's a lesbian night/club in Manila and we have what, 14 or 15 million people in the city? That's the third world for you.
Thank GOD for the weekend. I know I haven't been posting a lot of updates as of late but I have so many things to do on my laundry list. It's been crazy the past few weeks. Every day is a new day and 24 hours are SIMPLY. NOT. ENOUGH. Several insensitive readers even complained about the recent content of my site and how I should go back to "real" blogging. Whatever that is. Since when did blogging become a big fucking burden? An obligation? Although I completely understand where they are coming from, I, like everyone else, have my own set of P-R-I-O-R-I-T-I-E-S, a set of deadlines to beat. The problem with these people is that they expect far too much (which is already SO wrong) when, at the end of the day, they're just spectators. I don't even have time for a facial for goodness sake let alone sit here just to attempt to please everybody!
Enough whining. Here's a super quick video of something I did for the next issue of Tank. Enjoy!
Tomorrow I'm doing L'Officiel. Which one... I guess I can't tell.
And then I have my niece's birthday to worry about.
God I need a vacation.
PS. I just read and re-read what I typed above and I apologize if I sound like a raging cunt. Don't get me wrong. I *love* being busy. It's all fun and good (while I'm still at my prime)... and I'm thankful for everything that is coming my way.
Shower me with attention and inflate my ego. Email photos of your love and I'll add you to my ever-growing collection. Be creative! Be spontaneous! Send them to bryan@bryanboy.com today!
