The only word I have in my mind right now is: beautiful.

Two totally unexpected actresses in a row... and I like this cover. It's simple, beautiful, natural and it oozes 'all-American' chic to me.

I can't wait to see what's inside (ie. editorials) over the next few days.

The highly-influential French Vogue is renowned for their groundbreaking and superb, high-voltage, totally high fashion covers but this eyesore, my dearest friends, has got to be the WORST Vogue Paris Collections cover I've seen ever. I can't believe Carine signed approval on THIS mess.

THIS is what they released last season.

I don't understand why they can't choose just one, beautiful runway image that defines the show season altogether.

Thoughts?

I remember whining not too long ago how American Vogue usually picks from the same pool of actresses for the covers, namely Nicole, Charlize, Cameron, Sienna, etc. so this cover is quite a bit of a shocker and totally unexpected.

It's a good thing, no?

Anyhoo, I'm particularly curious with two of their cover stories -- "Youthquake 2010" and "When Size 4 is Too Big".

I think I'm buying this issue.

Photographed by Mario Testino. Flawless!!!!!!!!! I've said it many times in the past that I'm not really a big fan of celebrity covers especially when they're all "glammed" up. That whole Hollywood glam glam glam look is soo tired but no other magazine in America, IMO at least, do celebrity covers best other than V Magazine (ok, maybe W or Star haha). Anyhoo... it's refreshing to see someone like Natalie, who has that all-American sweetheart image, be 'edgy'.But then again, didn't she shaved her head once?

Beautiful, beautiful cover. BTW I like her nose...

lo and behold the smart folks over at German Vogue dropped the A-bomb on me for their September issue: MISS ANJA RUBIK!

How stunning is she? I *love* Anja. I've seen many, many photos and videos of her over the years and that woman is nothing but a thoroughbred. She's been on the game for quite some time now and she's piling up them ad campaigns and covers like no other.

Well, a huge "care package" arrived on my desk yesterday and Kaoru Sasaki, the lovely and generous Editor-in-Chief of Commons&Sense and Commons&Sense Man Japan (who I met during my trip to Tokyo), sent me the Spring/Summer 2009 issues of his magazines.

The much-awaited and highly-anticipated Vogue Paris cover featuring Anja Rubik is finally here. Although veteran Anja's been around the fashion circuit for ages, it's her first French Vogue cover.

Dutch duo Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin took the photo.

I'm not a big fan of studio shots on the covers of magazines but the world is going through a recession so it's quite understable why more and more mags go through that route.

As much as I adore Carine Roitfeld and Vogue Paris, I feel this cover was a let down.

In any case, good job on Anja for this well-deserved cover. It's about time!

After the recent stunning cover featuring the models of the moment, American Vogue's gone back to the usual celebrity pool. Cameron Diaz is on the cover of their June 2009 issue.

I like it. There is something about the cover that screams "American chic". Maybe it's the blond in white combo? It's very American Vogue.

I have to admit though I'm not gonna run to the newsstands to buy this issue (unlike what I did to Michelle Obama's). Why buy when you can read it at the salon... for free?

I think it was last year when I've finally come to terms that models have no place when it comes to American Vogue covers. It's simply not the magazine for them. I've given up on whingeing and whining because, quite frankly, it's pointless, useless and akin to giving a litany to a brick wall.

Anyhoo, Beyonce "Sasha Fierce" Knowles is on the cover of Vogue's April 2009 Shape Issue. TBH, I thought she's an interesting choice made by Anna. Didn't she just put First Lady Michelle Obama on this month's cover? When was the last time you saw two black women on the cover of Vogue in a row?

I like the simplicity of the cover. It's refreshing to see Beyonce in such an elegant and chic state. Ahhhh the power of Vogue photographers, Vogue airbrushing...

Did Vogue really just said "WORK IT"????

Between you and me, I can't remember the last time I was blown away by a magazine cover. This is simply breathtaking!
