Yes, I'm still alive... and no, I'm not going anywhere.

I apologize for the lack of updates in the past few days. I left my camera's cable at home and it was only until yesterday that I was able to go to a shop to buy one. It's been kerrrazzzy! As most of you already know, I'm in Kuala Lumpur for the Spring 2009 Malaysia International Fashion Week.

I've been working so hard the past few months it's logical that I treat myself with a little luxury lovin' in spite of these crazy economic times. The best gifts comes in orange boxes so I bought this cute little Hermès Bolduc Twilly Medor.

The Medor Twilly comes in four combinations: orange or green silk twilly with gold hardware and purple or black twilly with silver/palladium hardware. I wanted the purple twilly with gold hardware so I tried to charm my way with the sales associate who happily changed it for me.

It has three removable clips that you can use with your other twillys. You can then use it as a necklace, bracelet, whatever. I haven't tried it on a scarf yet. In any case, it's soo chic I love it!

7:14AM and my face looks busted! I got here like about half hour ago and I've had no sleep at all! As always, I packed at the very last minute. Woe is me.

I also got a haircut yesterday. I wanna replicate what they did for me in Singapore but alas, I didn't get what I wanted.

I guess there's only Junie from Action Salon...

A WORLD of Bow Ties

After three weeks of waiting, emails and phone tag from lots of people just to get these photos, allow me to present you these super cool bow ties from New Zealand label WORLD. I first saw them when I visited the World Deluxe store in Auckland during Air New Zealand Fashion Week a few months back.

I don't like it whenever my random curiosities turn into unhealthy obsessions. I've been obsessing about bow ties for quite some time now and it sucks that you cannot get decent ones in the Philippines. Except for the very privileged few who frequently goes to black tie events, no one really wears bow ties in Manila on a day-to-day basis.

Anyhoo... I recently asked my friend Isaac who lives in Auckland to visit the World stores and do what I should've done two months ago -- take pictures! I wish I took photos at the store but I only had 3 minutes because we were in between fashion shows when I went there.

I still remember exactly where the bow ties are.

It was love at first sight when I saw these bow ties in Auckland.

This is the bow tie I bought from them. I'm so pissed because I misplaced the damn thing! I couldn't find it in my room and I'm wondering whether or not I left it at the hotel when I went to Singapore. I haven't even used it yet!

Here are two bow ties I'm gonna buy when I get my paycheck. I know what you're thinking... I KNOW YOU'RE GONNA SAY IT. This one is so Chanel, no?

I'm sure y'all heard by now the online fracas surrounding Anna Wintour as of late. Is Anna Wintour retiring? Honestly? I bloody hope not. Everyone including their mother and their dogs are saying she's lost her mojo and she's now lurking in the shadows of her other contemporaries who are lapping up the spotlight but let me tell you, as much as I badly want American Vogue to offer a NEW point of view, Anna's done a damn great job over the years. American Vogue is American Vogue. She knows her audience and she serves them well. I'm gonna be devastated if she goes to retirement. The problem with the ivory tower of fashion is that no matter how high up your window, every one faces out onto the same swamp. Except for Anna. So... to all you venomous old hags out there, DO NOT MESS WITH THE BOB! Give the woman a break. All she needs is an intervention and she'll be back in no time.

Move over, Zara and Topshop! Since WHEN did Hot Topic became a fast fashion resource? I'm having goosebumps as I'm typing this. Wow. Just wow. The last time I bought something from Hot Topic was back in the dark ages when I had my goth AND raver phase. My stateside cousins and friends would often come home with all these goth shit that you couldn't get in the flips. I thought I'd pay their web site a visit after a decade later. Lo and behold they are now selling these skinny trousers (most of them are under $40!!) that are totally on-trend.

And of course, who could forget every Emmanuelle Alt-junkie's wet dream... the ultra-expensive Balmain trousers from the Fall/Winter 2008 which retails for €2,298 (about US$2,872).

Compare to the python-print trousers at Hot Topic... US$39!!!

Dang... this is so gonna look nice on my little humble press book.

The bath robe shots as well as the banana shots didn't make the cut (much to everyone's dismay) because, afterall, Singapore media is still conservative. Even cigarettes are a no-no in magazines. Just to get this boy-in-a-frock editorial out there is very bold already!

Nevertheless, I really had so much fun doing this. The photographer, Wee Khim, is the sweetest and the whole team were so super nice and friendly. I'll make another entry with photos from my camera that I took on the day of the shoot.

I'm still in awe... come fucking on... I'm not a celebrity or a model and here I am in a real real editorial. OH MY FUCKING GOD, RIGHT? I'm just a blogger who likes to play with clothes...

Hopefully I'll do it again because I love it... so to other magazines out there.... I'm just a plane ride away! Hahaha! Delusional much? *wink*

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end so enough model and magazine fantasies for now. Haha! FOR GOD'S SAKE, I STILL HAVEN'T PAID MY DUES TO TYRA!!

The one where i-D dedicated the entire issue (and 6 different covers) to Britain's new pixie-haired icon, the fabulous Miss Laura Hollins aka Miss Aggy? Well, someone in Thailand is making heaps of money selling Agyness Deyn t-shirts using images from i-D to hardcore fans.
