Talk about love at first sight. Fell in love with this light-weight yet surprisingly warm knitted turtleneck sweater with metallic silver thread chain-mail details from the fall/winter 2012 Versace womenswear collection. I like how it looks oh-so-rock-n-roll tough… but it’s probably the most fragile garment I own. I had to be extremely careful not to break any of the chain links. One wrong move is all it takes to ruin this piece.

I stopped by the Palazzo Versace in Via Gesu in between shows to visit my beloved Donatella. As you know, Donatella and the gang at Versace recently launched their e-commerce site. It’s always nice to see brands directly set-up their own online point of sale versus going through third party retailers with edited selections of a brand’s offerings. You can now shop Versace’s blockbuster items from their fall/winter 2012 selection. Donatella sent me this gorgeous, crystal-embellished byzantine cross, oversized pouch — and I love it! I love a good blingy bag both for day and night time.

I’m very excited for Donatella Versace’s official online e-commerce store which is going to be launched very soon. I’m a big fan of Donatella’s work. The energy and creativity she brings to the house is very much synch with her brother Gianni’s legacy. Donatella has worked with fashion bloggers in the past and I’m thrilled to be working with them once again this season — I’m very curious what outfit I’ll wear to her show! Patrick Demarchelier shot Charlize Theron (in Versace) for the cover of British Vogue’s May 2012 issue. What a beautiful, glamorous cover. I love the all-white backdrop, including, yes, the couch. At least there’s something. I was starting to wonder when they’ll stop using their tiresome studio backdrops…

A trip to Milan won’t be complete without paying Prada (aka handing out cash you’ve earned in between seasons) a visit. I picked up two of their stunning spring/summer 2012 shoes before Fashion Week began.
