I can’t put my finger on it but clearly I’m on something. I’ve been buying leather garments like mad over the past few months — leather shorts from Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim, Weekday, Barbara Bui, leather jackets, leather pants from pretty much everywhere and now this — cropped leather trousers from Acne. All I need is a leather harness. Who knew there’s a Peter Marino in me?

The last few blog entries were kinda fashion-y, I think we need a quick breather. Here’s my take on pedestrian dressing. I feel like this look is so rampant especially amongst young people in big cities where it can get a bit cold. I know I’m probably the last person in the world to wear sweatpants, a white t-shirt, hoodie AND a leather jacket to top it all off. It’s a different look, I agree, but is it comfortable? A little, yes. Is this me? Maybe not. But I like it, nonetheless.

Talk about love at first sight. Fell in love with this light-weight yet surprisingly warm knitted turtleneck sweater with metallic silver thread chain-mail details from the fall/winter 2012 Versace womenswear collection. I like how it looks oh-so-rock-n-roll tough… but it’s probably the most fragile garment I own. I had to be extremely careful not to break any of the chain links. One wrong move is all it takes to ruin this piece.

I think I’ve reached this stage where I’m (finally) becoming smarter with my purchases. After all, I’m gonna be stuck with the things I buy now for the next few months. It’s always nice to buy very, very few BUT only from the best AND wearing them to death as versus buying a lot of disposable things that you only wear once or twice. I fell in love with these great black trousers from Balenciaga in Paris. The store ran out of the pant in my size so I got it in a size larger than my usual. I’m trying to decide whether to get them altered (afterall, they were meant to be high-waisted) though I must say I love the slouchy effect. I also love how you are not able to see the leather details at the back of the obi-like bow on the front. Secret luxury. The black boots are also from Balenciaga. Picked them up at the men’s store in Rue Saint-Honore. I’m gonna make these boots my everyday shoe. As for the t-shirt, lord have mercy, I know, I know. Please don’t judge me. Thank you.

I can see the headlines now — BREAKING NEWS: Fashion Blogger Bryanboy takes a break from the front row to join the Swedish Military! Just kidding! I’m not one to do head-to-toe total looks but a weekend walk to the woods inspired me to dress up for the occasion. Winter is coming to an end so, in spite of the chilly weather, I thought I’d take my new acquisitions out for a quick spin. I picked up a shirt, a hat and a pair of shorts (click HERE) from the Acne store here in Stockholm. I love how the florals form a camouflage effect. It’s all about having a camoflorage moment.

I’ve been looking forward to seeing snow the past few months but alas, it’s been a very mild winter across both sides of the Atlantic this season. I wanted to go skiing after Paris but the idea of dragging my fashion month suitcases to the slopes is not a feasible one, especially when I’m already having problems taking them with me to the airport. I’ve been told one needs to take the car or train to St. Moritz or Courchevel or Cortina from a major city. I’ve never gone skiing EVER (from the looks of it, I need a whole new wardrobe for it — Moncler are you listening?) so I guess I’m gonna have to dedicate time to plan the perfect ski trip. Lucky for me, Flottsbro is just a stone’s throw away from Stockholm city center. My BF and I went here once again to appease my need to see some precious white flakes.

I don’t normally consider myself as a clutch person because I like to keep a hand free — free to smoke a cigarette, free to use my gargantuan camera take photos here and there, free to use my phone to text or to read Twitter. However, I’m a getting a bit bored of using bags that hang off the shoulder (or body) so the idea of simplifying and carrying the basics (lighter, gum, small wallet, ciggies and lip gloss) is very appealing. Last week in Paris, the very handsome Gabrielcorto gifted me this cute snakeskin clutch with neon green piping. I love it. It’s the perfect bag to keep the essentials on a relaxed Friday afternoon here in Stockholm.

Global warming is seriously fucking up my wardrobe options. Bad enough that we had to endure that miserable, disgusting Indian of a summer in Paris during the womenswear collections (three words: Espace Ephemere Tuileries) and now good ol’ Mama Nature is messing around with what was meant to be my winter vacay. This time last year, most of Europe was knee-deep in snow and I was mincing around the streets of Stockholm in my Dior moon boots. It’s different this year. The thermometer hovered around 8 degrees celsius this afternoon and I had no choice but to take my suede Church’s boots out for a spin along with my warm beanie and gloves I bought from Urban Outfitters a few weeks ago. Autumn dressing right at the tail end of December. So wrong… but so cozy and perfect.

Yes, an old dog can learn new tricks; it’s never too late to learn something new. I’ve mastered the art of flying broomsticks earlier this afternoon!

After a (very long) plane ride, it’s so nice to be back in Stockhome, my home sweet home.
