Flora by Kris Knight For Gucci

19/12/2014, Current Affairs, Gucci, Handbags, Sponsored Content

Gucci collaborated with Canadian artist Kris Knight to reinterpret the iconic floral print for their Resort/Cruise 2015 collection. Kris referenced ancient Roman florals and plants in his work. The canvas backpack Gucci sent me as part of their Holiday Collection (click HERE) is very lightweight and can fit a ton of stuff. A good floral print is a fail-safe way to bring some color and joy in your looks.

That Gucci Backpack

15/12/2014, Current Affairs, Gucci, Handbags, Sponsored Content, Valentino

Fashion news aside, Gucci’s been on my radar as of late. My newly-renewed obsession with Gucci started this summer when I visited their flagship store in Rome to buy a classic black bamboo tote bag. I also liked this season’s men’s collection when it hit the store floors. Imagine the delight when I received a huge package earlier this week — Santa made an early pit stop in my building to deliver gifts! One of them is this terrific, very well-made white leather Gucci backpack (click HERE) with the classic bamboo handle. Y’all know me, I love anything and everything white — it’s the color of purity! I took it out for a spin around my hood (over at South Street Seaport) and paired it with a white, cable-knit cashmere Gucci sweater I bought online recently. The world is circle indeed.

Why don’t you point your internet browsers to the Gucci website and browse their gift guide for several holiday gift ideas. Click HERE to visit the site. When you have the spare time, why not visit your nearest Gucci store? You’d be surprised with the amount of fabulous things they have. Gucci is THE fashion house to watch over the next few months.

Begin Desire With Martini

11/11/2014, Musings, Sponsored Content

Have you seen Martini’s new ad campaign entitled “Begin Desire”? As many of you guys know, I skipped a day out of my London Fashion Week schedule to go to Rome to see filmmaker Jake Scott direct this very inspirational short film. The story is about an Italian waitress who found a note left by a customer, encouraging her to make changes in her life because she began to desire.

I found this film particularly moving. I may not be a waitress but there was a time in my life that I found myself in a situation similar to hers. Perhaps not just one time but many, many times. One fine example is when I used to live in the Philippines. I cannot say I totally hated it but it felt like I was trapped in a place where I couldn’t evolve. I didn’t want to be this person who spent a huge chunk of his twenties in front of the computer sixteen hours a day with no life outside the website.

And when my previous jobs came by the busload, I found myself criss-crossing continents several times a month (if not several times a week). While I love traveling, I spent more time in the sky than being on land. For years, I was happy on the surface because things went well with my career but I was miserable inside because I couldn’t see my loved ones as often as I should. One has to make sacrifices though. No one in this world deserves to be held back by other people to live a life they want for themselves.

Anyway, that was the past. I like to say that yesterday is a closed book. I obviously have no regrets because that was the way things were. Everything happens for a reason. I wouldn’t be here where I am today.. I felt that I had to change my life completely. It obviously began from desiring something that was completely different to what I had. And that’s what I did. I packed my bags, moved to New York and haven’t looked back.

Armani Fifth Avenue

22/10/2013, Current Affairs, Giorgio Armani, Sponsored Content

In preparation for this Thursday’s major Giorgio ArmaniOne Night Only New York” festivities and the launch of “Eccentrico” exhibition, I went to the Armani Fifth Avenue flagship boutique to select an outfit for the event. As always, I love the attentive service at the store. I also went upstairs to Armani Ristorante, something I’ve never done before, for a little post-shopping aperitivo situation. LOVED the Armani Martini. Delicious.

Rock The Sidewalk

07/08/2013, Express, Fashion and Style, Sponsored Content

It’s been quite awhile since I last attended a fashion show that’s open to the public so when American retail behemoth Express invited me last weekend to attend their ‘Rock the Sidewalk’ show, I thought, why not? It was a massive event held at the legendary Times Square here in New York City — just look at the aerial view of the crowds. Pure insanity! The show featured looks from their upcoming Holiday 2013 collection. Some of my favourite girls, Frida Gustavsson and my beloved Kasia Struss walked the show. I thought many of the menswear looks were terrific. I also loved the red lace dress Kasia wore towards the end — a very sexy, wham glam bam, frock perfect for the endless holiday parties this fall.

Many of you asked on Twitter and Instagram what I wore at the show. Both the sweater and the shorts are from Express. Click HERE to buy the striped sweater online.

Rock Your Walk

05/08/2013, American Eagle, Current Affairs, Fashion and Style, Sponsored Content

To kick off their Fall 2013 project “Life Your Life” initiative, the lovely folks over at American Eagle invited some of their favourite friends to take part in their Rock Your Walk video project. I went to the launch party at their Times Square flagship store a few days ago and bumped into my lovelies Leandra Medine (of Manrepeller) and my fellow ANTM colleague Johnny Wujek who DJed at the event. Vanessa Hudgens and Jessica Szohr were also there. I also had so much fun taking over American Eagle’s official instagram account that night!

I love American Eagle denim. They’re so easy to wear, the price points are terrific and I could wear them with pretty much anything! It’s so hot here in NYC so, at the very last minute, decided to cut off my American Eagle jeans and turn them into shorts!

Why don’t you take part in the festivities and submit a video of yourself walking in their jeans? The best videos will be added to the an ongoing runway video and will be featured on American Eagle’s major LED billboard on Times Square! Visit www.ae.com/RockYourWalk for more information or to submit your videos!

H&M’s 50 States of Fashion

01/08/2013, Current Affairs, H&M, Sponsored Content

Do you shop at H&M like I do? Well, I’m thrilled to share that you, my fellow US residents, can now shop online on H&M’s new e-commerce site (http://www.hm.com/US)! To celebrate the launch, H&M invites you, my dearest readers, to take part in their 50 States of Fashion social media campaign.

Bryanboy wearing a faux fur coat from H&M Fall Winter Paris 2013 Collection

All you need to do is to post on instagram a photo of yourself wearing a look from H&M and hash-tagging it #HMShopOnlineNY with the last 2 letters being the abbreviation of your state. For example, if you live in California, you need to tag it #HMShopOnlineCA, so on and so forth. All of these submissions will then populate on the 50 States of Fashion microsite where visitors can “like” their favourite looks. After a 3-week submission period (Aug 1 – 21, 2013), the semi-finalists will be determined by the most liked photos from each state. There are five judges, each representing five regions in the USA — Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest and West. Each of the judges will then select a finalist from their regions. The grand prize winner will receive a $1,000 H&M shopping spree and a trip to New York City to attend an event during New York Fashion Week.

I’ve been selected by H&M to be one of the five judges for this campaign and I’m representing the Northeast Region. This includes New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maine, Vermont, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, etc.
