Mohair Mania + Brodarte on the cheap!
I’m sure you’ve heard of Rodarte’s new menswear line (dubbed “BROdarte”) that’s currently being sold at Opening Ceremony. I’m a big fan of Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s brilliant work but alas, the price points are, to put it quite simply, way too out of my reach. Unless I win the lottery, Rodarte’s beautiful, hand-crafted sweaters at three thousand dollars apiece shall remain a fantasy to me.
Now here’s something a little bit more real. If you want to give that knitted mohair sweater look a try, as previously sported by members of the Sex Pistols, today is your lucky day. I was browsing eBay and found these affordable mohair knits in different colour combinations. Each of these sweaters are forty five dollars a pop.
- [here] Yellow, black and white
- [here] Black and camel
- [here] Red, white and black
- [here] Green, red and white
As for me, THIS is what I just bought. Not bad for $45 + shipping eh?
Can’t wait to get it in the mail.
You’re very, very welcome.

Versace at Browns
So here I am, looking at websites for nice things I can't afford while lying on my bed because of this pesky fever and sore throat that just won't go away.
It's not particularly my style… and I don't want them for myself (duh) but these two wonderful, colourful and vibrant Versace pieces at Browns caught my eye. I had a wee bit of flashbacks of Versace from the 90s… baroque prints, medusa heads, you know, the whole shebang.
Versace baroque print silk top £365 and Versace baroque print cotton and silk dress £815 at Browns London.
Perhaps the big shocker here is the price point.
£365 for the silk top? That's quite affordable, especially for Versace, no?
I mean, it's not affordable "affordable" because £365 (minus VAT if you live outside the EU and want to get technical about it) is still a huge chunk of money. However, I think it's affordable compared to the usual Versace sticker shocker prices…
I pointed this out to a friend and first thing he said was, "are they going after us poors now?".
I think it's great though.
Meanwhile, have you seen the new Versace Pre-fall collection? Amazing.

If you live in the US and still have some spare change left (are you drowning in sale overload like I am?), be sure to check out the sale at Topman. Topman rocks because it's one of the very few places where I, a teeny, tiny, petite, slim, lithe little person, can get menswear at amazing prices.
Meanwhile, don't fret if you live outside the USA. Click HERE for the international site.
I'd visit the sale NOW if I were you. There are tons of greedy, brutal and ruthless queens out there who are out for blood. The fight for XS sizes ain't pretty.

Roberto Cavalli Jewelry
One of the things I've learned over the years is that some of the best things to buy on sale are things that you can see yourself use over and over and over for years to come: jewelry, shoes or clothing "classics" (such as cashmere sweaters, shirts) etc.
I'm currently browsing the Vivre sale… and I'm loving these bits and baubles from Roberto Cavalli.
Roberto Cavalli cabochon octopus rings ($335 now $164) with turquoise or amethyst, enamel serpent bracelets ($350 now $98), bi-color enamel snake bracelets ($455 now $159) in blue, orange or yellow, crystal-studded jeweled snake bracelets ($435 now $121), bi-color enamel and crystal snake rings ($255 now $71), elephant head bracelet ($700 now $280).
Click HERE to visit the Vivre sale. They have little nifty things from Kenneth Jay Lane, Erickson Beamon and more!

It's 5AM on Boxing Day. I know I should be sleeping but here I am, trolling away online, hopping from one online store to another. It's sale season once more so if you haven't maxed out your plastic buying other people nice Christmas gifts (who, in return, will give you something ridiculous like socks, mugs or calendars), well, I invite you to check out some noteworthy stores with amazing markdowns. Go ahead and treat yourself!
London luxury emporium Browns has an amazing selection of Balenciaga and Lanvin pieces.
Net-a-Porter is on SALE on their US/Americas site so if you live in the US, Canada, Mexico and South America, be sure to check it out.
My personal favourite is Shopbop. FREE shipping worldwide! They have tons of Alexander Wang at 50% off.
As far as I'm concerned, I'm only window-shopping. I'm broke.
Like the old saying goes, just because you're on a diet it doesn't mean you can't look at the menu.

I've Got Nothing to Wear Notebook
Some of my older readers should know by now that I'm a big fan of Smythson of Bond Street. Remember the Little Black Book I kept from many, many years ago?
I was just browsing their website now and I saw this cheeky "I've Got Nothing to Wear" notebook from their Malachite collection.
At £57 each, they're gonna make a lovely (albeit pricey) stocking stuffer this holiday season. Go!

Genius MousePen i608 Graphic Tablet for Creative Painting
The Genius MousePen i608 Graphic Tablet is available for around US$65. Let’s see if I’m gonna be able to get my money’s worth over the next few weeks. Surely I can do better than juvenile scribbles, doodles and stick figures…
