Miu Miu Large Sequined Leather Tote Bag
It's Sunday night and I'm here on my bed, window shopping away. I don't know about you but the shopaholic in me likes to pretend I'm buying things by adding items in a virtual shopping cart… and then closing the browser window (without buying, of course) once I get my fix. Y'all should try it sometime. It makes great exercise and it doesn't cost a single cent.
Anyway, I need this sequined Miu Miu tote bag to come into my life.
I saw it in real life when I went to the Miu Miu store in Milan last month and that bag is to-die-for.

Stella McCartney for GAP Kids
Are you a GAP customer? I am, but I’ve never bought anything from the GAP kids department. I’m calling the attention of anyone (and I mean geriatrics over the age of Tavi) who is familiar of GAP kids sizes, especially their boys’ section.
Stella McCartney, as you know, collaborated with GAP kids for a limited-edition line and I’m obsessing over this t-shirt that I like in navy blue and white.
They’re cute, no?
I love the superhero print; it’s soo chic! You can wear it underneath a sharp jacket or a trench (tip: everything looks good underneath a black or khaki trench), some lovely shorts (I love the one by Chris Benz) and perhaps a statement-making necklace.
Although I’d most likely wear it with a colourful, contrasting piece (lemon yellow? green? anything with coral?), this embellished felt necklace by Malene Birger is major. Ditto with this Adia Kibur chiffon stunner.
I’m all for piling it up. Pile it up. Pile that shit up!
Yesterday afternoon, my mom told me I looked like a salad bar (she’s the 2nd person who told me this) after seeing photos of me
outside the Gucci show in Milan. Salad eh? But hey, Anna Wintour complimented me and said I looked ‘eclectic’ (is
that Vogue speak for cray cray?) and Carine Roitfeld whispered sweet
nothings… so Anna + Carine’s opinions supertrumps my mother’s. Haha
;-)
You see, dressing up is like going to the buffet table. You pick your
clothes like the way you pick your food based on your taste and your
mood before putting it on your plate. Some prefer to be minimalist — you know how they’re like… they go straight to the salad counter and all they eat are cherry tomatoes. I, on the other hand, well, I’m a greedy princess so I take everything — and wear everything in one go.
Visa card at ten paces, can I fit into boys’ size XL or XXL? I need to know the answer.

Givenchy Leggings Spring Summer 2010
I fell in love with these optical print Givenchy leggings the moment I saw them on the windows of Bergdorf Goodman last month.
It wasn’t available for sale at that time and what they had on the window was a sample.
I haven’t been to Luisa Via Roma’s website in ages, and look, it’s now available for sale for US$740, free fedex shipping (to USA/Canada + Europe) included.
Beautiful eh?
I’m gonna have to think about this one. I’m having second doubts; my legs are much, much chunkier now compared to what they were because I gained quite a bit of weight over the past month. There’s a chance the print would make my legs look stumpy.
We’ll see.

Balmain Jacket Spring Summer 2010
Everyone loves a good ol' case of schadenfreude. I know it's absolutely cruel for me to say this but I always beam with delight whenever I see hot diggity damn Christophe Decarnin for Balmain items on eBay. No matter what you say, it only means one thing: buyer's remorse! Walking out the shop door after experiencing the high one gets after dropping the plastic for seven grand is insane. When that high turns into a comedown, you just know there's a woman out there in this big, bad, pagoda-shouldered world, quivering, no, weeping, over her mastercard statement.

Oh fashion, what are you doing to people?

Side Slope Cardigans by Hiroki Wakisaka
It’s summer here in the third world (spring in the northern hemisphere) and these statement-making bright, colourful cardigans by Side Slope are calling my name. I’d wear them with khaki shorts, perhaps a tank or a shirt underneath and a big ol’ granny necklace and voila, the look is soo me. You can even wear something fantastic like a beige Burberry trench on top of it.
Red v-neck cardigan and blue v-neck cardigan, £365 both from Oki-ni.
The wooden buttons are a nice personal touch, no?
Side Slope is a Milan-based Japanese brand founded by Hiroki Wakisaka in 2005. Wakisaka is passionate about knits, placing emphasis on craftsmanship and technical skill. They even own their workshops.
Alas, these beautiful and unique cotton knit cardigans don’t come easy on the pocket.
Approx. US$550 each is the price to pay for something that special.

What's Inside My Dream Handbag
Let's say you got mugged on the street and someone ran away with your handbag.
Santa Claus then appeared out of nowhere. He realized he forgot to give you a present last Christmas because he was drunk so he offered to buy you a new bag and a few little nifty things (without being too outrageous so no, absolutely no Himalayan Birkins please) to get you back on track. What would you get? Here's mine…
Yes I know.
I *had* to throw in the chewing um there cause I need it. Haha! ;-)
Don't ask me why I don't have contraceptives there. I'm a nun!!!!

Mohair Mania + Brodarte on the cheap!
I’m sure you’ve heard of Rodarte’s new menswear line (dubbed “BROdarte”) that’s currently being sold at Opening Ceremony. I’m a big fan of Kate and Laura Mulleavy’s brilliant work but alas, the price points are, to put it quite simply, way too out of my reach. Unless I win the lottery, Rodarte’s beautiful, hand-crafted sweaters at three thousand dollars apiece shall remain a fantasy to me.
Now here’s something a little bit more real. If you want to give that knitted mohair sweater look a try, as previously sported by members of the Sex Pistols, today is your lucky day. I was browsing eBay and found these affordable mohair knits in different colour combinations. Each of these sweaters are forty five dollars a pop.
As for me, THIS is what I just bought. Not bad for $45 + shipping eh?
Can’t wait to get it in the mail.
You’re very, very welcome.

Versace at Browns
So here I am, looking at websites for nice things I can't afford while lying on my bed because of this pesky fever and sore throat that just won't go away.
It's not particularly my style… and I don't want them for myself (duh) but these two wonderful, colourful and vibrant Versace pieces at Browns caught my eye. I had a wee bit of flashbacks of Versace from the 90s… baroque prints, medusa heads, you know, the whole shebang.
Versace baroque print silk top £365 and Versace baroque print cotton and silk dress £815 at Browns London.
Perhaps the big shocker here is the price point.
£365 for the silk top? That's quite affordable, especially for Versace, no?
I mean, it's not affordable "affordable" because £365 (minus VAT if you live outside the EU and want to get technical about it) is still a huge chunk of money. However, I think it's affordable compared to the usual Versace sticker shocker prices…
I pointed this out to a friend and first thing he said was, "are they going after us poors now?".
I think it's great though.
Meanwhile, have you seen the new Versace Pre-fall collection? Amazing.
