See By Chloe Sandals

19/12/2013, Fashion and Style, See by Chloe, Shoes, Shopping

Are you ready for resort? I am! I really am! I think it’s funny how I used to be a huge fan of the winter season. Before moving to New York City almost two years ago, I’ve always envisioned “winter” (from my previous travels, at least) as this gorgeous, glamorous, time of the year when it’s snowing every day and all there is to do is to go around town in gorgeous furs and drink hot tea in front of the fireplace wearing layers and layers of four-ply cashmere. Little did I know it’s not really like that and I would end up miserable in my apartment FOR DAYS AT A TIME because it’s too damn cold to do anything remotely human outside. Don’t get me wrong — I’d rather be cold any time than deal with the heat. It’s no secret that I sweat like a whore in church and it’s not a good lewk. But seriously, the cold temperatures are paralyzing me. I’ve lost all willpower to haul my ass out of the couch.

Enough about the weather. I know there’s a ton of sales going on but I’m not gonna spend a single cent of my hard-earned money towards old merchandise. I did my fall/winter shopping before Thanksgiving and that was the end of my expenditures towards fall. I’m thrilled that new things are slowly trickling in at the stores, especially the resort and pre-collections. FINALLY!

I bought a pair of See by Chloe sandals on Shopbop the other day. I know, I know. Metal shoe trimmings are not going anywhere! I’m going somewhere warm next week and I can’t wait to rock these out. I think this is a terrific addition to my closet.

Stuart Weitzman Via Sant’Andrea Opening

09/10/2013, Accessories, Events, Fall Winter 2013, Fashion and Style, Milan, Shoes, Stuart Weitzman

After attending Anna Wintour’s intimate cocktail at Armani Hotel’s Bamboo Bar in Milan for my beloved Lucky Magazine Editor-in-Chief Eva Chen, I rushed to the Stuart Weitzman’s new boutique (designed by Zaha Hadid) in Milan’s ultra chic Via Sant’Andrea. The iconic Kate Moss, the star of Stuart’s Fall 2013 “Made for Walking” ad campaign, was also there.

In Manila, Philippines, the Stuart Weitzman flagship store is located at SM Aura Premier.

Totally Toryffic Cold Weather Essential

25/11/2012, Fashion and Style, Shoes, Tory Burch

Congratulations to me. I’ve just made my first ever Tory Burch purchase. I saw these cute shearling and leather boots at Net-a-Porter earlier this morning. I need a warm and casual every day boot I could wear on my fashion circus days off. Just a few weeks ago I was thinking about buying my first pair of Uggs because the temperatures are not going anywhere but south. So happy I held myself back.

The Sneaker You Need Right Now

05/04/2012, Fashion and Style, Marc Jacobs, Shoes

Sneaker wedges are nothing new. A few seasons ago, before the whole Isabel Marant madness exploded, I got a pair from See by Chloe in navy. I’ve been lusting over these Marc by Marc Jacobs sneaker wedges ever since I saw them on the runway last September. I love the three inch hidden heel inside (perfect for vertically-challenged people like myself) and of course, the changeable shoelaces. So cute! At $320, the price point is much friendlier than the distant Isabel Marant cousin. The sneaker comes in two multi-color versions, one with a white base and another in navy blue.

Prada Golf Shoe

17/03/2012, Current Affairs, Prada, Shoes

Spring/summer is always a good season for Prada. It’s no secret that Mama Miuccia makes some of the best men’s shoes around. I love how they followed-through on the success of the spring 2011 blockbuster “flatform” brogues (here’s a pic of me around the same time LAST YEAR) by releasing yet another multi-colored twist on a time-tested classic: the golf shoe.

New Babies On The Block

26/02/2012, Fashion and Style, Phillip Lim, Pierre Hardy, Prada, Shoes, Spring Summer 2012, Versace

A trip to Milan won’t be complete without paying Prada (aka handing out cash you’ve earned in between seasons) a visit. I picked up two of their stunning spring/summer 2012 shoes before Fashion Week began.

Louis Leeman Shoes Fall 2012

18/02/2012, Fall Winter 2012, Fashion and Style, Louis Leeman, Shoes

My stylist friend Rogelio first introduced me to the world of Louis Leeman Paris sometime last year but it wasn’t until last month when I went to Pitti Uomo that I realized how gorgeous Louis’ shoes are. Fast forward to New York Fashion Week and I found myself salivating once again when Mr. Leeman had his presentation a few days ago. I had goosebumps when I saw the entire range — his shoes are incredibly well-made. I love the classic shapes with modern embellishments such as teeny touches of metal, caviar beads, etc. How can you not fall in love with these shoes? Men’s shoes have never been soo chic! A retailer would be VERY stupid not to sell these shoes…

Give Her The Boot

03/01/2012, Alexander Wang, Fashion and Style, Shoes, Shopping

Alexander Wang’s Andrea boots are so cute. I love the slits, the laces and the shape! I’m always on the hunt for nice flat boots and these babies are just right. I could see this as an every day shoe — perfect for those days when all you want to do is to chillax in a sweater and a pair of skinnies.
