Aliona Doletskaya’s Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2010 Bag
You’ve seen Victoria Beckham debut that cheeky and chic Louis Vuitton messenger bag with the fox fur tail keychain. Well, here’s yet another bag from the Spring/Summer 2010 collection, this time it’s Aliona Doletskaya’s, beside from my very old Goyard. Like what I said before, I went straight to the Vogue Russia office as soon as I landed into Moscow after traveling for 26 hours with no time to drop my bags or change clothes at the hotel.
You honestly have no idea how GLAD I am not to have worn pyjamas to the airport (like I usually do)….
Gosha Rubchinsky at Cycles & Seasons Moscow Spring 2010
And now, I present you Russian boys exercising, playing the guitar and doing ‘boy’ things (that I really should be doing but couldn’t) courtesy of Gosha Rubchinsky’s presentation in Moscow at the Cycles & Seasons by Mastercard event.
I know most people balk and complain about the changing of the season in the northern hemisphere but I welcome it with open arms. For the first time in weeks, I finally feel at peace. I get a strange feeling of calm and serenity whenever it's gray, cloudy and cold. It's not THAT cold in Moscow (in fact the sun is back) but still.. it's a refreshing change from the horrible, humid and hot weather back home. How funny. I spoke to the gorgeous Miroslava Duma last night and we both agreed that us human beings want something that we usually cannot have… like the weather, for example.
Meanwhile, Claudia Schiffer is on the cover of the December 2009 issue of Russian Vogue
Hmmm. Five years ago (how fast time flies eh — I missed my anniversary last month), I started this blog for a reason. I went to Moscow and St. Petersburg for a vacation and I wanted an online platform where I can update my family and friends with my whereabouts. Little did I know it's going to evolve into the website that it is right now. Because of this, I owe pretty much most of my blessings to Russia and that magical country will always be in my heart.
I guess only time will tell if I go full-circle or not. Remember my logo mania days? Haha! ;)
There are angels out there making some magic happen, I think. Fingers crossed.
After that adorable feature on Carine Roitfeld, CNN features another character from the fashion world. This time it’s Russian model Natalia Vodianova. Although she’s not necessarily my favourite model, I think it’s great (baby steps y’all) that an enormous international news organization is showing interest with some of fashion’s key players. I’m just disappointed that they don’t have a dedicated fashion or style-oriented show. I remember speaking to a journalist friend about this a few months back and it seems that a lot of these networks still consider fashion as “fluff” when it reality, the fashion industry generates billions and billions of dollars of revenue and employ tens of, if not, millions of people around the world. Ah well. Enough rambling from me. Watch Natalia give a quick tour of one of my favourite cities in the world. Moscow. Russia silly, not Idaho.
