All Aboard The Brooklyn-Bound Christian Dior Ferry

09/05/2014, Celebrity Gossip, Christian Dior, Current Affairs, Events, Fashion and Style, Rihanna

Ladies and gentlemen, the next Brooklyn-bound Dior Ferry will arrive in 2 minutes. The next stop is Brooklyn Navy Yard. Please mind the gap between yourself and the models.

I texted my friend Jane, Glamour Magazine’s new Fashion News Director at 2PM: “Let’s meet at 6:15PM, 35th street pier, if you can. I want to be there early.” We both decided to take the logo-emblazoned chartered ferry (complete with all-white seat covers and cocktails served) to Brooklyn Navy Yard, the venue of yesterday evening’s Christian Dior 2015 cruise fashion show. As we got out of our cars, an army of handsome all-American male model ushers greeted us. They looked cute in double-breasted navy blazers, some dressed in complete sailor ensembles with the Dior insignia patch. I had a hard time stopping myself from using the guys as a backdrop for an instagram shot. A staggering amount of magazine editors, as well as a slew of impeccably-dressed, Dior-clad clients ditched their cars and took that ferry ride with us. I guess people are traumatized (and smarter) from their experience after that major Alexander Wang show in February.

Rihanna Concert at 2013 Mawazine Rabat Morocco

26/05/2013, Current Affairs, Morocco, Music, Rabat, Rihanna

I love Bad Gal Riri. I really do. Rihanna is EVERYTHING! I don’t care if she lip synchs or what have you but she’s a terrific entertainer. I went to my first Rihanna concert last night, thanks to Mawazine Music Festival here in Rabat, Morocco. Rihanna, who opened the show wearing a spring/summer 2013 Miu Miu coat, performed her greatest hits — Umbrella, Rude Boy, Only Girl in the World, What’s My Name, We Found Love, Stay and Diamonds, amongst others. She looked AMAZING last night. Ultra fit body, her abs were incredible and her weave, my gosh, the weave, not a single weave strand out of place while she twerked the stage!

On a side note, poor Queenie. Remind me to give him a gift certificate to my local Asian masseuse as soon as we get home.I don’t know how he managed to carry all my weight as I sat on his shoulders in order for my petite ass to see what was going on stage. Sitting on his shoulders was definitely a highlight of my night. I’ve never done that before. It was exhilarating to be sitting on top of a 6-foot-5-tall guy, while having laser beams above you and everyone and their sea of mobile phone and camera screen beneath you. Surreal. Absolutely surreal.

Rihanna for American Vogue April 2011 Cover + Behind the Scenes

17/03/2011, Celebrity Gossip, Chanel, Fashion and Style, Magazine Covers, Rihanna, Vogue USA

Have you seen the latest issue of American Vogue? Rihanna, in Chanel, looks ravishing on this (long-overdue if I may add) cover.

I’m still recovering from Lady Gaga’s marvelous March issue (one of my faves from Vogue as of late). Whoever spiked the watercooler on the 12th floor deserves a gold medal. One smashing issue after another, it’s obvious that they’ve been drinking some major Kool-Aid.

Can’t wait to get my hands on this one. Big kudos to Anna and her team. High-fives all around!
