Letizia Moratti, Mayor of Milan

Klaus Wowereit who is the Mayor of Berlin, is not the only European politician I’ve met in the past few weeks. I’ve also had the pleasure of  the honorable Letizia Moratti, the Mayor of Milan, at the Dolce & Gabbana menswear 20th year anniversary.

Check out this video of this beautiful event. Fast forward to 10:00 and you’ll see me make a cameo appearance. LOL LOL LOL! :-)

I can’t wait to share photos I took. I must say it was probably the most glamorous event I’ve been in my entire life and I don’t think any would top that. For now at least. Haha!

Great news! After 21 years, the adoption agency called. They finally traced my fairy godmother and it’s time for reunification. It turns out, it’s streetstyle blog darling, the ravishing Anna Dello Russo, who is also Vogue Nippon’s Fashion Director at Large.

She invited me for nibbles, a drink and a chat at her gorgeous apartment after the spring/summer 2011 D&G menswear show in Milan.

Prada Menswear Backstage Spring Summer 2011

While the rest of the fashion pack went to Moncler, I went to the Prada venue an hour before the indicated show time. I was early so I walked to a nearby cafe for a snack. When I walked in, two editors from a Chinese magazine recognized me and we had a quick chat. They wanted to take photos backstage. They invited me to join them but I didn’t have a backstage pass.

I decided to join them anyway. What the heck. I don’t normally sneak in, in fact, I don’t go anywhere unless I’m invited but Prada is Prada. It’s one of the biggest shows in Milan.

Prada Menswear Spring Summer 2011 Show Invitation

A few of you have emailed asking me what the Prada menswear spring/summer 2011 fashion show invitation looks like. Well, here it is.

I also added a “Show Invitations” category. I’ll post pictures of show invites there when I have the time.

I know, right. I speak as if I have lots of time. It’s true what my dad taught me when I was a kid: free time is the most luxurious thing to have in the world.

Dolce & Gabbana Menswear 20th Year Anniversary: Sneak Preview

Zegna commemorates 100 years and Roberto Cavalli celebrates 40 years in business this year but the recent spring/summer 2011 menswear show season in Milan clearly belonged to 20 years of Dolce & Gabbana menswear.

Trattoria Bagutta Milan

I joined my good ol' friend Sonny, Anna and Harper's Bazaar backstage honcho Sean Cunningham for dinner at Trattoria Bagutta last night. It's always a pleasure chatting with backstage photographers about models, freelance work, the state of the industry especially with these tough economic times, budget cuts at traditonal media houses and more.

Meanwhile, streetstyle-blog staple, the absolutely stunning and ferosha Kate Lanphear was also there. First one to spot her shall win a kiss on the cheek from me and an oreo cookie.
