Although I didn’t find anything that pushed the envelope at Thai designer Jirawat Bote Benchakarn’s collection, I must say I was charmed by the show. He sent down a myriad of various essentials such as school boy blazers, button-down shirts, sweaters and cardigans, mostly paired with shorts. I love the green detail at the back of two jacket collars. I thought they were terrific. And the double-breasted blazer and camouflage short combo? Scott Schuman, who posted THIS entry in May last year, is going to be very proud.
Due to the unfortunate events in Japan, this season’s Japan Fashion Week has been cancelled. Japanese brand DressCamp presented their new collection at the first Singapore Men’s Fashion Week.
Now I know how Tim Blanks felt when he saw me (sans the usual vertiginous heels) the other day. While trying to find our seats at the Burberry Prorsum fall/winter show, he jokingly told me that it was the first time he’s seen me at my natural height. I wore my shearling-lined men’s Burberry boots at the show.
At the Prada show yesterday evening, another classy and sassy lady traded her signature skyscrapers for something a wee bit more comfortable.
My beloved Anna Dello Russo (and Prada seatmate/next-door neighbour) wore a pair of chic Church’s while I wore these patent-leather sneakers I bought at the Lanvin store in Singapore last month.
Dolce & Gabbana Menswear Fall Winter 2011 Full Show
Immaculate and impeccable tailoring as always from my favourite Italian duo, Dolce & Gabbana. I'm also happy they infused the collection with colour (red, maroon, burgundy, etc) this time around after several monochromatic seasons. The sequined fuschia jacket? It has my name on it. Adoro!
On a side note, how do you feel about the drop crotches?
Prada Menswear Fall Winter 2011 Fashion Show Invitation
Opening my stack of invites during fashion week is always fun. I always beam with delight whenever I get a seat with a clear line of sight. When it's a front-row seat at a hot ticket show, such as Prada, it's a true honor and a pleasure.
Don't forget to watch the show live, online, later today at Prada.com
From Rio de Janeiro, I'm now in Milan! Due to my late arrival, I was still at Malpensa by the time Dolce & Gabbana started hence I was unable to attend the show. I was also late at Jil Sander who gave me a front row seat. The show already kicked off by the time my cab arrived to the venue. I wanted to cry when I heard the music thumping as I sprinted up the stairs. More on that later. It is what it is.
I thoroughly enjoyed the new fall/winter Burberry Prorsum show. I love the solid-coloured coats at the beginning, soft cashmere sweaters interwoven with fur, perhaps sheared rabbit or sheared mink and of course, many of the fur-trimed coats including the black-and-white mink extravaganza which I'll show you later. For now, let me show you this quick video I made of the spectacular finale in which he sent his models in plastic raincoats to protect them from getting wet. And the faux rain set up on the runway? Dramatic.
Back in Paris, me and my pals Sonny and Isaac thought it was a good idea to have (very) late lunch before the spectacular Damir Doma show. A few minutes after my order arrived, male model Linus Gustin rolled up beside me. He was on his way to the show venue but he was starving. He asked us how long it took for our food to arrive and I told him it wasn’t very long so he joined our table. I thought I was gonna die — hello, how often do you have lunch with male models? I’m talking about real, working models not “models“. Anyway, I found out he’s Swedish. Y’all know how I go weak in the knees when it comes to Swedish guys. There I was, in Paris, having a beautiful meal with friends, enjoying a nice glass of rose and I’ve got some eye candy beside me. It was icing on the cake!
I don’t think I’ll ever get over Alexander McQueen’s passing. It’s so bittersweet that my first Alexander McQueen show was also his last. With womenswear collections just around the corner, I’m very curious what his successor, Sarah Burton, will come up under his name.
They are now
available for sale at Oki-Ni. Prices range from £40 – £55. A bit pricey for boxers and briefs but hey, they’re McQueen! I’m sure it doesn’t hurt to indulge from time to time…
I’m sure you’ve seen some hot boys sporting around Christian Louboutin’s famous studded black and white sneakers. But have you seen these gorgeous babies from his new men’s collection? Leopard! Metallic glitter! Crystal!
As much as I want to go for the leopard version, I must say I’m attracted to the crystal-studded one. Let’s be honest here… I love shimmery, shiny things!
Just keeping it real, y’all, just keeping it real.
If you live in the UK, they are now available at Harvey Nichols.
