Every blogger and their lap dog are doing ’2012 in Pictures’ posts as a feeble attempt in
humbleblogging humblebragging. Between you and me, I don’t even know where my 2012 went! I’m not gonna sit here for hours just to regurgitate memories from this year. It’s all about moving forward and charging ahead! With that being said, 2012 has been a banner year and I’d like to thank you all for the support — my beloved partner, my supportive family, my extremely loyal friends, my loving agent, my generous advertisers and sponsors and of course, my dearest readers. But most importantly, I’d like to thank myself for being awesome. Happy 2013!
A few weeks ago, H&M wanted me to host the livestream of the celebrity-packed launch here in New York but alas, I was booked for a project in Hong Kong. I also missed out on the pre-launch shopping event because I was in Tel Aviv. I thought I was gonna miss out on buying the pieces that I want. I was like ok, this too shall pass, not a big deal. And then of course, the powers that be at H&M sent me a care package filled with many gorgeous items from my Maison Martin Margiela x H&M collaboration wishlist – a couple of coats and jackets, a few trousers and a handful of accessories. A big thank you to you guys! So happy I didn’t have to queue to fight tooth and nail with random people. Phew.
My favourite piece from the collection is this behemoth of a duvet coat. It’s MAJOR. I love the silhouette! I could think of a thousand and one ways to wear this beauty. I thought I’d wear it with a metal belt this time around for a futuristic feel. I can’t wait to rock it over the next few weeks. Perfect for that early morning stroll to Starbucks…

Thought I’d share a few memories from Paris during the recent spring/summer 2013 womenswear collections – all minked up at nine o’clock AM before the Vuitton show, a futuristic stroll, front-row at Chloe, pink flower sighting just minutes before a friend got mugged by gypsy kids, Tour Eiffel after Costume National, one of my favourite looks from the John Galliano show, coat and micro shorts contrasting combo, the ubiquitous front-row photo bombing by mobile devices at Loewe, plastic-covered walls at Maison Martin Margiela, chic clutches at Sonia Rykiel, Hawaiian tropic at Isabel Marant, pure craftsmanship insanity wicker-chair chic at Balmain and more… Will do another batch shortly.

Here’s the view from my seat at the Maison Martin Margiela spring/summer 2013 fashion show this afternoon.
So it turns out, my blond obsession didn’t stop during my wigaloo moment in Copenhagen.
I thought it was hysterical (and very sweet) for Brad Goreski to include this note when Margiela delivered this strong blond hair vest to my hotel earlier in the week.
Before the Marc Jacobs show last night, I went to Francisco Costa’s collection at the Calvin Klein show in the afternoon. I thought I’d go for simplicity so I wore this pistachio-coloured cashmere sweater from Uniqlo and a pair of shorts with a Prince of Wales check pattern. My silver half-moon bag and shoes are from Martin Margiela fall/winter 2011. American Elle’s Joe Zee (who, btw, had his show, ‘All on the Line’, renewed for a second season) took delight with my bag. It matched his outfit, too.
