As part of my effort to improve my health (and more importantly, to downsize my figure), I’ve decided to embark on a vegan/vegetarian diet. It’s very easy to do this in health-conscious Los Angeles where tons of vegan cafes thrive and flourish. Rumi brought me to one of her favourite places, Cru, for lunch. I had a small cup of soup and zucchini “spaghetti”, which, I must say, for no more than 100 calories for the entire bowl, is quite filling. I couldn’t help but update my vegan friends in New York with my progress. They’re very proud of me. I think I’d be proud of myself though once I become lean and fit into sample sizes once again. Haha! ;-)
Hat, cardigan, necklace and bag gifted by Marc Jacobs, sunglasses from Prada, pleather vest from Karl Lagerfeld x Macy’s collaboration, belt borrowed from Rumi Neely, custom-tailored shirt and shorts, shoes from Kurt Geiger.

I thought I’d share a few images I took at the Marc Jacobs spring/summer 2012 show two days ago.

Click HERE to view them at the Kanon Vodka site.
I’ll post more photos in a separate blog post.

Here’s the view from my seat at the Marc Jacobs spring/summer 2012 fashion show last night. Unlike most of the shows I’ve attended, Marc didn’t have a final walkthrough. Instead, models posed with chairs on a make-shift wooden stage set inspired by dance halls at the other end of the runway.

I rushed backstage to greet Marc Jacobs after his spectacular spring/summer 2012 show. Like clockwork, it’s been a personal ritual of mine to greet and congratulate the designer after his show. What happens next after the photo ops? Well, I like to listen to him give quick interviews and sound bytes, feel the fabrics of the clothes on the racks and then take as many photos of the collection as possible before his busy bees wrap everything up in garment bags.
I felt Marc’s hard muscles when I hugged him that I slipped “oh you got bigger!” then he cheekily replied “oh no, my clothes got tighter!” I thought that was funny.
I’ll share my backstage shots in a separate post.

Marc Jacobs Samples Are Size Four and NOT Size Zero
Fact: most designer samples that are used on the runway shows range from size 2 to size 6 and not “size zero” as what the media likes to portray.
I took part at a magazine shoot (cover!!) in Singapore the other day. I saw this rack of Marc Jacobs original spring 2011 runway samples that were specially flown in from New York for the shoot and guess what — they’re all size four!

Shoes Make Me Happy
Are you enjoying the holiday shopping season? There are tons of SALE promotions everywhere. I swear to god, my heart beats faster every time I see a 'sale' sign and I always have to remind myself "Stop. Must. Save. For. Future."
I saw this hysterical sign at the ION shopping mall in Singapore yesterday morning.
Suddenly don't feel bad about the treats I got myself: a new pair of Lanvin shoes and a Marc Jacobs bag.
I think I've worked VERY hard this year…a treat (here and there) is well-deserved, no?

Marc by Marc Jacobs Blanket Sweater
I'm browsing Shopbop just now and saw two of my favourite staple "styles" (or trends… whatever you call em…) in one very cozy Marc by Marc Jacobs mash-up: colourblocking and stripes!
I'm all about colours this fall/winter season.
It seems that the older I get, the more I become less interested in wearing black outerwear. If only I had access to colourful coats and outerwear all the time, I'd be in heaven.
Marc by Marc Jacobs blanket sweater, US$528, at Shopbop.
(Shopbop, btw, offers FREE shipping wherever you are in the world.)

Marc Jacobs (in drag!!!) for Industrie Magazine
Holy Mrs. Jacobs batman! Marc Jacobs is on the cover of the latest issue of Industrie magazine.
Marc was shot by Patrick Demarchelier and styled by Katie Grand.
Thoughts? I love it. Look at those legs!
