Traumatised

What I love most about blogging is that it enables me to interact with many, many people around the world. I’m all for making new friends and contacts. It’s always nice to chat and meet people, regardless of who they are or where they are. It’s nice to put faces as to who reads me behind a computer screen. Meeting my readers and followers is something I thoroughly love and enjoy, which is why I do my best to accommodate everyone who wants to take photos of me or with me, even when I don’t look my best or when I look haggard or when I’m tired, etc. It takes a lot of guts to come up to someone let alone to ask them for a
photograph. I don’t mind it at all. It’s fun! Although I don’t consider myself as a legitimate “star” or
“celebrity”, I must say I find it extremely flattering. I also know how it feels because I’ve been in the same position… I can’t count the number of times I wanted to come up to someone for a photo op but only for me to chicken out in the end.

Last night, I had a very unpleasant experience with a reader at an event I hosted. When he asked to take a photo with me, I obliged. Like what I said, it’s fun. When he started doing these crazy poses I was like ‘oh wow, he sure is werqing it whatevs’ so I just stood there and let him bask in his “ferociousness”. I’m not selfish; I’m all for letting other people enjoy their moment.

A few seconds later,  lo and behold he grabbed my face with his hand — and he’s no small guy — he grabbed my face and then he pulled me towards his cheek and his ear. I escaped by politely telling him “excuse me”, then I walked to an acquaintance who I last saw two years ago.

I thought it was horrible. Now I know why celebrities have security. They need to be protected from all the loonies and cray cray kids! I can’t even imagine what REAL celebrities had to deal with on a day to day basis. Que horror!

I’ll chalk it up to experience, I guess.

With that being said, I’m having a baller bombastic time here in Kuala Lumpur. Are you kidding me? That experience is just a totally isolated case. I won’t let one bad apple ruin all the amazing apples in this basket.

Super Power Twitter Twins Activate

Henry Holland and I have been tweeting a storm in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia over the past few days. We're both here for the launch of MUSA, a multi-label concept store.

Agyness Deyn's tweet made my night yesterday.

I know I'm totally backblogged but I don't have wi-fi in my room (25th floor) and my internet access is very, very limited. My apologies for all the delays — blogs, emails, etc.
