Time and time again, I’ve always said that the older I get, the more I become allergic to the colour black. HOWEVER, it just occured to me now that I seem to be unconsciously collecting black accessories. What gives?

No visit to Austin is complete without popping by the Texas State Capitol. Afterall, Austin IS the state capital. Rumi told me for the most part, American capitals are not the biggest cities in the state, ie the capital of California is Sacramento (and not Los Angeles), the capital of New York is Albany (and not New York City), so on and so forth.

Robert Verdi took some of his old Hermès silk scarves and got Vans to use them to customize his sneakers. Talk about a whole new level of DIY. How amazing are these?

After being separated with my man for almost two months, it’s nice to be back in his arms once again. Luggage in tow, I went straight to the Japanese restaurant near his workplace. I thought it would be nice to see him during his lunch break. There he was in his brown jacket, classic aviators, white tee and his so-called (this came from him not me) “fat jeans”. Reunited at last! I’ve been to many places, have met so many people but nothing beats the feeling of getting a big, bear hug from the one that loves you the most — and of course, the one that you love.

Speaking of love, look at my little homecoming present. It’s the Hermès Kelly Double Tour bracelet. I’ve been lusting over it for months, especially the green one that I saw in Paris during fashion week.

In 1984, Hermès created the iconic Birkin bag after actress and singer Jane Birkin.

Jane is now auctioning off one of her Birkin bags to support relief efforts in Japan.

Small Bag, Big Bag
Check out my lovely new Pucci bag who looks so humble and modest in contrast to TheBaghag‘s spectacular crocodile Hermès Kelly. I took this photo on my blackberry before dinner last night.

Beautiful babies, no?

For a Good Cause
I had a lovely conversation earlier this afternoon with my friend Mrs. T, aka The Bag Hag. She’s auctioning off her Hermès Gris Tourterelle Victoria bag to raise funds for the benefit of Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital in Manila.
