I love this feature from Harper’s Bazaar. Vera Wang looks AMAZING; same with her gorgeous Los Angeles home. So inspirational, no? Whenever my friend Tina (from Bagsnob) and I see inspirational Asians, we always joke around saying ‘she’s the template’. Well, after watching this video, Vera is truly a template!

Back to my Fashion’s Night Out 2011 Tokyo diaries… it was so nice seeing Mr. Cavalli once again. I simply had to praise him for his smashing spring/summer 2012 womenswear show and of course, his stylist Panos Yiapanis who styled the collection.

Are you ready for the Versace x H&M Collaboration? I am. The collection is going to be released on November 17 in various markets around the world. If you live in the USA or Canada, it’s going to be available on November 19.

For two days, starting today October 25, the iconic Donatella Versace will answer select questions submitted through Twitter from fans. Ask Donatella anything about the upcoming collaboration with H&M with the hashtag #askdonatella.

I rushed straight to Via Gesu after the stunning Prada show earlier this evening. Donatella invited me for a casual meet. I thought it was very sweet and kind of her to invite me to their rehearsal, a full twenty four hours before the show. Models Siri Tollerod and Lindsey Wixson were also there, walking the long, lighted runway in these amazing, skyscraper platform shoes. Versace shows are usually high-energy, with gorgeous girls sashaying to pumping music. Donatella told me there are going to be forty-plus looks tomorrow and she liked the idea of bringing big hair back after several seasons of sleek, straight hair.

In other news, my bf arrived in Milan this afternoon. He, too, met the iconic Donatella. I don’t usually tag him along to my business affairs but I needed someone to capture a photo of me and Ms. Versace.

Are you excited for the Versace show tomorrow night? I am.

Watch Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana talk to the ever so keen, ever so intelligent Imran Amed about fashion, their fans and their digital strategies. Though bouth of them believe in the power of the digital medium, Domenico is the complete opposite of Stefano when it comes to the use of technology. He doesn’t use Facebook and Twitter. I love when he said he prefers real life more and in a way, it’s inspiring. It’s important to always separate both real and online lives. It’s easy to get trapped online and this whole social media madness due to the addictive nature of the internet. I for one try to the best that I can to live my life normally and have a life OUTSIDE the internet.. and then share it online. I don’t make the online world my real world, you know? Life is beautiful.

Stefano Pilati on Fashion Bloggers as told to WWD at the Yves Saint Laurent Resort 2012 show in New York:

“I pay attention to all of them and I’m very scared,” he says. “Because who are these people? I would like to sit with them and ask them where they come from. Because it’s very easy to judge from your bed. At the same time, I’m fascinated. I’m fascinated by this era and this medium. If people are thirsty about fashion, I like to have a dialogue, but now it’s not a two-way dialogue; it’s a one-way dialogue.”

Alber Elbaz and Moi

After all these years, Alber and I finally met.

I shyly approached the maestro at the post-show private shopping event. All I wanted to do was to photograph him. However, the incredibly kind and gracious Alber insisted that I join him so I humbly asked one of the other chic ladies to take our photo.

I was surprised that he knows me. I was shocked when Alber told me he's kept track of how far I've come and how he's kept track of me from the earlier days of my blog. I don't know how I managed to stop myself from crying in front of him; I have always been a fan of Alber, his work and his undying love for the women who adore his creations. He creates not only fashion but dreams…

I saw him a few times throughout the shopping event. While queueing at the till, Alber was there again so I told him "look at what you're doing to people!", referring to the dozens and dozens of well-dressed fans and followers of his, going agog at the new Lanvin x H&M collection.

Alber, it truly is an honor meeting you. Thank you so much for making me (and thousands, if not millions of people) fall in love with fashion again and again and again…

This is truly a dream come true. The Lanvin x H&M collaboration is going to be released in 200 stores worldwide on November 23, 2010. 

“H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.”
