Yesterday night belonged to Giorgio Armani. Actually, scratch that. October 24, as decreed by Mayor Bloomberg, is Giorgio Armani Day in New York City. I spent most part of my evening at his “One Night Only” event, featuring a retrospective of his Privé collections on a runway show and an exhibit called “Eccentrico“. I’ll share more photos on a separate blog post. Still gobsmacked how Mr. A’s team transformed the massive SuperPiers into a really chic venue. No detail was spared, from the carpeting to the scent wafting in the air! Yesterday night was definitely a night to remember. Bravo!

The countdown begins! To kick off Armani’s “One Night Only” festivities in New York City, why don’t you check out this hysterical video of various New Yorkers on Giorgio Armani the man (and Armani the brand) through the camera lens of Style.com’s Tim Blanks.

Gisele. GISELE! The term “supermodel” does get thrown around loosely but IMO, Gisele Bundchen, aka “GB”, aka “Number One”, is the last supermodel in my books. I had the pleasure of working with the most beautiful woman in the world for two days last week and boy oh boy, this one is for the books.
As y’all know, I extended in Paris for a few days after fashion week. One day, I got an email from my beloved agent to go to a casting. Nine years of blogging and I’ve never gone to a casting before so naturally I was nervous. I’m no model. I didn’t know what to expect! But, like a trooper, I showed up right on the dot, answered a few questions in front of a camera and within three minutes, done and done. A week later, I got called in to take part in a two-day shoot. I was on set for sixteen hours on the first day.
Trust me, I wish I could tell you all about it. I’m bound to keep my silence until it comes out. NEXT YEAR. For now, why don’t you enjoy Gisele’s supremacy and ferociousness, courtesy of this old Vogue Italia video…
Gisele is EVERYTHING!!!!!
Missed the livestream this morning? Here’s the full-length video of the Louis Vuitton spring summer 2014 fashion show in Paris. It’s Marc Jacobs’ final collection for Louis Vuitton.
As some of you guys already know, I recently went to Singapore to take part in the Charles & Keith festivities at the newly-opened flagship in Ngee Ann City. My beloved Yoshiko Kris-Webb (who I haven’t seen in ages, flew in from Tokyo), Liu Wen (who looked MAJOR in Calvin Klein Collection), Daniel Henney and K-POP Girls Generation were also there. In addition to the store opening, Charles & Keith held a runway show and an after party. Fun times!
It’s been quite awhile since I last obsessed over a designer collaboration. I must say Junya Watanabe Comme des Garcons’ capsule collection for Loewe is nothing but spectacular. I love the rendition on Loewe’s iconic Amazona bag and of course, the jeans — a delightful melange of leather, denim, suede, and different textures and fabrics.

You must be living in a different planet if you haven’t seen Miuccia Prada’s blockbuster spring-summer 2014 collection. Her usual venue, Via Foggazzaro 36, turned into a museum of all sorts, thanks to the murals on the walls featuring artists she cherry-picked. Talk about a visual and sensory feast! Don’t even get me started on the colourful, intarsia furs. Or when Britney’s latest track, “Work Bitch”, blared through the speakers. This is definitely one of those Prada shows that you get so high from watching and everything else after that is a downer. Bravo!
The legendary and iconic Kate Moss is the star of Stuart Weitzman’s fall 2013 campaign dubbed “Made For Walking”. I love how Kate was styled in her usual self — the hair, the big, chubby coat (so Kate Moss), the pea coat and the turtleneck in conjuction with selection of Stuart’s boots. So effortless…

As you guys already know, I’m currently serving as a judge for H&M’s latest ’50 States of Fashion’ social media contest to promote the launch of H&M USA’s e-commerce site.
I represent the North East region, which covers 9 states, my home state New York included. Some interesting stats — we’ve received over 1,500 photo submissions from my region and over 16,000 votes were submitted on those photos. My job is to pick the finalist representing my region from a group of “well-liked” semi-finalists. Not an easy task when the submissions represent a wide variety of personal styles, aesthetics, etc.
I’m proud to announce Francisca (Ala Mode Wearhouse) (instagram: alamodewearhouse), from Massachusetts, as my personal choice for finalist representing the North East region. As a finalist, Francisca will receive a $250 H&M shopping gift card and a chance to win the grand prize (a trip to NYC + a major shopping spree).
Visit http://www.50statesoffashion.com to view the rest of the submissions from all regions in the USA.
