V A Model!

V A Model!

Laydeeeeessss! It’s time to ditch those damn carbs and get on a water fast stat! V Magazine and Supreme Model Management, home to my fave Rachel Clark, is running a fabulous model search. The prize? A 3-year, $150,000 modeling contract, a fantastic Calvin Klein wardrobe and of course, a 4-page spread on my favourite mag rag, V Magazine! That’s better than getting a 30-page spread in Us Weekly! Click here for more information. I think it’s fucking fabulous — go check it out. You’ll see some of the contestants there and y’all can vote for me your favourite girl.

V Magazine

Here’s the fun part:

You can also have a hand in selecting a winner—the V A Model! Users Choice winner will be chosen by the users of vmagazine.com. The V A Model! Users Choice winner will be the star of her own vmagazine.com fashion story. Vote every day for your favorite and see who comes out on top!

I don’t mind being Users Choice. That’s just as good as being Miss Congeniality! You know, I’ve ALWAYS wanted to be the star of my own fashion story. Think about it — lights, camera, makeup, all those fabulous clothes you get to play with for hours and hours, Dom Bom and Bolli Stolli served during photo shoots, hot, sweaty well-hung photographer assistants etc. If you’re lucky enough, you can also pull a Lindsay or a Britney, channel your inner klepto and steal samples like Verdura or Graff jewelry!

It’s heaven I’m telling you, heaven! A million prepubescent drag queens would kill for this job. I would totally join the contest. Afterall, I’m 5’9 5’10, I have fabulous long hair, fantastic bone structure and a 20-inch waist. The only thing I need at this point is a vajayjay… ok, maybe a chin job and a 10 pound weight loss but whatever. Deadline ends on November 1, 2007 so there’s time for me to fly over to Bangkok and get my manhood chopped off. But for those of you blessed with supremely good looks (be sure to check the rules first) don’t wait for me because I’m delusional. Join now and knock em dead!

Christopher Kane Spring/Summer 2008

Christopher Kane Spring/Summer 2008

All that snakeskin print reminded me of Tom Ford for Gucci back in the dark ages and the shoes were sort of similar to Balenciaga this season. And then there’s ruffles. Lots of ruffles. Ruffles, ruffles, ruffles. MAYJAH ruffles. Ruffles rained from the sky like there’s no such thing as tomorrow. Did I say ruffles? Ruffled snakeskin print paired off with ripped jeans? Cavalli is that chu? I love the black dresses though. Some of them are gorgeous. Watch the video and see for yourself. Keep an eye out for the lone girl lesbian tough chick ranger (jk) who looked like she was about to beat someone up for making her wear a ruffled chiffon skirt.

Christopher Kane

BTW, nice to see Tanya D. and Rachel Clark!!!

I’m sure y’all heard the story how Christopher Kane’s pieces (and laptop) were stolen in London. I cannot help but wonder whether a) it’s a PR tactic to generate more buzz or b) some sort of preventative measure for critics to be gentle on him. In any case, Christopher Kane, IMO, is a great addition to London Fashion Week and he’s definitely one of the names to watch out for. I think I"ll wait for the high quality photos before I can fully decide whether I liked this or not.

Peter Jensen Spring/Summer 2008

Peter Jensen Spring/Summer 2008

Have y’all seen the latest Peter Jensen collection? The first thing that came to mind is… SWEDEN! The denim pieces says it all. In fact, if you look at outfit #1 below, that whole ‘look’ is 100% Swedish. Only a true blue Swede can pull it off, I think. As far as the other outfits are concerned, your average scandinavian bunny will probably get a heart attack with all those colours and they’ll replace some of it with something gray, black or white but you get the idea. Call me crazy but I really can’t picture a Swede in something like Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana or Gareth Pugh. Hahahaha ;) JK.

Peter Jensen

What do you think? I love it when I’m right. You KNOW I am right. Ja? Nej?

Zac Posen Spring/Summer 2008

Hahahahaha! Look at Zac Posen’s walk at the end of this video. Looks like I’m not the ONLY one who:

1) can’t walk straight
2) crosses her legs when walking

I love Zac Posen! I think he’s hot in spite of the fact that some of the pieces in this collection reminds me of Dior.

Bruno Bordese and Munoz Vrandecic Shoes

Bruno Bordese and Munoz Vrandecic Shoes

Obsession du jour! I was browsing online shops that carry Comme des Garçons until one site led to another and another and another. To cut the story short, I ended up at this shop in Italy called "Lazzari" and saw these beautiful shoes by Italian designer Bruno Bordese and Spanish-based Munoz Vrandecic. I currently have this little "fetish" with all things distressed or used and abused. I know many of you out there who love that "high-gloss" ultra refined polished little miss poly pocket perfect look — I’m not saying it’s a bad thing but personally, I’m digging the whole "fake moth holes in sweaters and shoes that look old and rough" look. Aren’t these shoes GAWjeaous?

They would look *so* good with black Fogal or Wolford tights, no?

Bryanboy Loves… Raquel Zimmermann

Bryanboy Loves… Raquel Zimmermann

First things first — I normally would never subject myself to the humiliation of being photographed beside someone as fierce as Raquel but I’ll make an exception today because this is the best photo I found. Now, someone apparently showed my site to the oh-so-cool Raquel Zimmermann and I’m still recovering from the state of shock! Hay gurl you’re the best! I *LOVE* Raquel. I really do. I may not talk about her often on my site but I think she’s one of the coolest — and fiercest — girls ever. Can you imagine… we’ve all seen the Brazilians come and go over the years but she’s still on top of her game?  She’s amazing!

Raquel Zimmermann
Vogue Paris September 2007

I looked her up on YouTube and there’s a clip of her where she said ""every show I go I try to meet the people that I know that are fun and try to you know have a laugh and have a good time!"  Isn’t she the sweetest?

I think there’s a reason why the top girls, you know, stay on top — they’re nice and they have a ton of personality to back them up. You go look for Raquel’s backstage photos and she looks like she’s always having a great time unlike some of the ones who look permanently depressed and sulk in one corner. Hah!

Raquel is the hotness!

It’s WAR! Gay versus Jew!

It’s WAR! Gay versus Jew!

OH MY GOD YOU GUYS. Y’all are sooo gonna have a ball with today’s WWD — Jacobs Blasts Black: Designer Tells Critics Shut Up or Stay Home.

Jewsgays

Jacobs has long had a rocky relationship with the CFDA and the spring dates are among the issues that have rekindled the antagonism. He charged that a key champion behind the shift was Suzy Menkes, who wanted to get back to Europe in time for the Jewish holiday, and that the CFDA caved to her pressure. (Diane von Furstenberg has said that serious pressure was exerted from various sources, including retailers.)

Sponsored by:Fashion Blog.

To be honest with you, I don’t really have anything to say about this whole thing other than it’s madness! I’ll let Marc Jacobs and Suzy Menkes do the talking. Click click click for 100% fashion drama.

WAY OFF THE MARC: KOOKY CATWALK KILLS THE MOOD
By MAUREEN CALLAHAN

September 11, 2007 — What is wrong with Marc Jacobs? Last night – fresh off a round of positive press in which the rehabbed, newly buff designer claimed to have gotten his entire life together the cool girl’s favorite designer indulged in a remarkable display of self-destruction. Not only did his show start two hours late, at 11 p.m. (this after a very public flogging by the industry just a few seasons ago for a 90-minute delay), but he opted for a gimmicky "backwards show," taking, with great presumption, his applause before ever sending a single look down the runway.

As for those looks: again, what is wrong with Marc Jacobs? For all its highbrow references, Comme des Garcons, Martin Margiela, a touch of Bauhaus, this collection was an unmitigated disaster. Aside from the shoes, which were feats of engineering, and one dress, a beaded blood-red number, the clothes were a fashion-school hodgepodge of what a fashion-school student would most likely – and incorrectly – call "deconstrucionist fashion." That said, Jacobs is a visionary, a true talent who both predicts and dictates trends – but this collection, and the screw-you attitude with which it was presented, were just begging for harsh criticism. Sorry to oblige.

Lego-Mania at Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2008

Marc Jacobs has done it again! I honestly love Marc by Marc versus his main line, Marc Jacobs Collection. I have to admit the first thing that came to mind when I saw Marc by Marc was…. MIU MIU and Prada! LOL. Anyway, forget about the clothes. Menswear is surprisingly great and the bags are amazing. What’s my favourite of them all?? Lego blocks used as part of the accesories!

Lego at Marc by Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2008

The boys had them as belts while the girls had them as part of their headbands. Nifty eh? I love it!
