On the day of the super private John Galliano fall/winter 2011 show, I thought I’d sprinkle some Bryanboy sunshine to lighten things up around somber and gloomy Paris by doing what I like to do best — going cray cray with the outfits! Since John Galliano is known for his extravagant, flamboyant and dramatic creations, why not pay homage by pushing a bit further without taking things a bit too seriously? Afterall, fashion is meant to be a fun celebration of fantasy, desires and delight!

I recently went to Spiga2 (Dolce & Gabbana’s multi-brand store dedicated to support young talent) in Milan to see Fausto Puglisi’s latest pieces for Fall 2011. Fausto, who collaborated with Versace in the past, is part of the new generation of Italian designers to watch.

I love everything sequined so you can only imagine my delight when I saw these skirts at the fall/winter 2011 Louis Vuitton fashion show. I’m sure it took long to hand-stitch hundreds, if not thousands, of square paillettes in different sizes. I also love the contrast between something so synthetic and man-made and of course, the luxury of the python bag.

Although I didn’t find anything that pushed the envelope at Thai designer Jirawat Bote Benchakarn’s collection, I must say I was charmed by the show. He sent down a myriad of various essentials such as school boy blazers, button-down shirts, sweaters and cardigans, mostly paired with shorts. I love the green detail at the back of two jacket collars. I thought they were terrific. And the double-breasted blazer and camouflage short combo? Scott Schuman, who posted THIS entry in May last year, is going to be very proud.

I love these shots I took of American Vogue’s Grace Coddington while waiting to enter the Louis Vuitton fall/winter 2011 fashion show in Paris.

How stunning are these Thierry Mugler fall/winter 2011 shoes?

Allow me to share some images I took when I visited the Mugler showroom in Paris. Pictures can be deceiving at times so don’t let these images fool you. The heels are astonishingly high!

Here are two videos I took from my front-row seat at the Michael Kors Fall/Winter 2011 fashion show. What an excellent showmanship of timeless, CHIC and most importantly, luxurious, clothing. It’s Michael’s 30th Anniversary this year.
Here’s the official show video from Michael Kors.
I visited the Michael Kors showroom several days after the show. I’ll post the photos I took on a separate blog post.

Dolce & Gabbana’s fall/winter 2011 collection is definitely one of my favourites from Milan last month. It’s refreshing the power duo departed from their usual fare of delectable lace dresses and offered a new dressing proposition for fall: androgynous, gender-bending looks but still with the trademark Dolce & Gabbana tailoring, glitz and dazzle. I salivated over the front row because there were so many desirable pieces from the collection. The first thing I saw when I went backstage before the show was the pair of purple sequined trousers. Stefano Gabbana immediately pointed out they made it in three colors… and when I saw them on the runway during the show, BOOM!, it was a ME ME ME ME ME moment.
