Cindi Leive, Glamour magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, hosted a very intimate dinner at the Beatrice Inn to celebrate my beloved Jason Wu. As you already know, the First Lady of the United States of America, Michelle Obama (aka FLOTUS), wore Jason’s dress once again at President Barack Obama’s Inauguration Ball.
I don’t know about you but I always, always get teary-eyed whenever I hear other people toast other people for their achievements. Cindi gave a heart-warming speech about Jason. She also wore the floral dress version of the top I’ve been eying online.
It was a good crowd. The ultra gorgeous and iconic Stephanie Seymour, the star of Jason Wu’s new ad campaign sat across me, Vogue’s Valerie Boster was the perfect seatmate, Chanel Iman showed me photos of her new car (I died) in California and encouraged me to finally get my driver’s license, my gurl Hilary Rhoda who I haven’t seen since we filmed the Rebecca Minkoff Christmas video was there and of course, I love Martha Hunt! She’s a knockout stunner.

125th Street in Harlem? Why not? Balmain and Vogue Magazine celebrated the launch of ‘The Pierre” handbag the other night at the amazing Red Rooster restaurant. Kicked off by meeting Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing who flew in from Paris just for the dinner, had a few cocktails before feasting on the best cornbread I’ve had in AGES. The lithe Russian Editor Anya Ziourova was one of my seatmates and we both LOVE the chicken. Ended the night with the gorgeous Kasia Struss dropping me off and stopping by at my apartment for a quick vodka nightcap before she went home. I must say it’s one of the best dinner parties I’ve been to in ages, hands down.
In other news, I really love this photo of Constance Jablonski, moi and Karlie Kloss. Even I can’t deal with the fabulosity of this image…

There are very few reasons for a downtown guy like myself to head uptown — Barney’s, Bergdorf’s, the shops along Madison Ave and of course, good causes. For instance, cancer-related causes have a special place in my heart. I’ve lost my aunt Cynthia to the disease a few years ago. The Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, along with the fabulous folks at Max Mara, recently held their annual Fall Party at the super chic Four Seasons Restaurant. I had so much fun at the event. Thank you Max Mara for the experience!

I know it doesn’t sound very me to say I haven’t gone to many parties the past month. When you’re staying far from the city center and have early morning appointments and shows to attend, you have no choice but to tuck yourself under the sheets as early as possible. But when Mama Carine invites you to her ultra chic black-tie ball to celebrate her collaboration with MAC Cosmetics, you better put that mink bow tie on and go where the fashion flock goes. Where else could I dance with the legendary Mr Alaia, shake my booty on the dance floor with Mr Ackermann, have Mr Testino tell me “I looooooove your fur!” and freak out with Rachel Zoe at the courtyard because of a mystery man going nuts with the fire extinguisher? Only at Carine’s ball where fashion stars align, let their hair down and have lots of fun. Best party of the season. #NUFFSAID

How did you celebrate this year’s Fashion’s Night Out? I hosted a cute party at Marni Edition at their Meatpacking District (1 Gansevoort Street) store. DJ Indigo Clarke and Jisoo Hong provided the music and guests were treated with lovely bubbly and nibbles. Finding myself hand out Marni balloons (featuring illustrations by Brian Rea) to shoppers and random passersby was my highlight of the night. Who, afterall, doesn’t like balloons?

Hey ladies — I’m thrilled to be back in Sydney! It’s been four years since my last visit. I’m back in town for this year’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia as a guest of Destination NSW. The New South Wales Government launched an exciting initiative yesterday afternoon where they picked Australian fashion designers Camilla Franks, Camilla Freeman-Topper, Dion Lee, Rachel Gilbert and shoe designer Terry Biviano, to act as Fashion Ambassadors to show guests, like myself and my friends, Rumi Neely, Candice Lake amongst others, their version of Sydney — where they work, shop, eat, drink and play. I was paired with the lovely Camilla Franks; her work is known for her stunning use of colour and prints.

I look forward to seeing you all over the next few days. I can’t wait to make new memories in Sydney!
