I know it doesn’t sound very me to say I haven’t gone to many parties the past month. When you’re staying far from the city center and have early morning appointments and shows to attend, you have no choice but to tuck yourself under the sheets as early as possible. But when Mama Carine invites you to her ultra chic black-tie ball to celebrate her collaboration with MAC Cosmetics, you better put that mink bow tie on and go where the fashion flock goes. Where else could I dance with the legendary Mr Alaia, shake my booty on the dance floor with Mr Ackermann, have Mr Testino tell me “I looooooove your fur!” and freak out with Rachel Zoe at the courtyard because of a mystery man going nuts with the fire extinguisher? Only at Carine’s ball where fashion stars align, let their hair down and have lots of fun. Best party of the season. #NUFFSAID

Let’s not kid ourselves. I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of using the Tour Eiffel as a photo backdrop whenever I’m in Paris. It has to be done at least once, you know? I thought I’d get it out of the way after the Costume National show at Palais de Tokyo this afternoon, . Bucket list check, done and done. Next!

Are you ready to bid adieu to summer? I am. The weather here in Paris has been quite unpredictable. It’s been quite cold compared to previous Septembers. Rumi and I took a quick stroll around the Tuileries yesterday afternoon in between shows.

Arrivederci Milano et Bonjour Paris! It’s so nice to be back in Paris once again for the final stretch of fashion month. I wasn’t in my best form in Milan — I was sick for the entire week. I can’t believe I still went to the shows in spite of me having a flu. I was a germ carrier. My oh my, I’ll never forget sitting there, sweating my butt off from all the hot flashes I had because of all the pharmaceuticals I took. I’m starting to feel much better now (oh look, I’m holding a ciggie!) but it doesn’t help that Paris is cold and rainy. Ah well. Summer is officially over.

It’s been quite some time since I last took these Alexander McQueen visors out for a spin. I’ve had it for a couple of months now. It never fails to draw so much attention — I’ve been stopped many, many times on the street from people asking me whether I could see through them (the answer is yes)! And then of course, talking to my friends always result in major hysterics. “You need to take them off when I’m talking to you. I can’t take you seriously!,” a friend quipped. The visors are obnoxious, yes, but it’s a great conversation piece. I love it.

Oh hi guys!

I ended New York Fashion Week on a high note. At the Calvin Klein Collection dinner held at the new Beatrice Inn, I had the pleasure of meeting three wonderful sportsmen of the moment: the very handsome Olympic gold-medalist swimmer Conor Dwyer, superstar New York Knicks basketball player Amar’e Stoudemire and the Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender for the New York Rangers, Henrik Lundqvist.

I didn’t go to a lot of parties this season. I self-imposed a midnight curfew and werqed countless alarms (clock, cellphone, laptop) at the crack of dawn in order for me to go the gym, make coffee, work AND attend every single 9AM and 10AM show I RSVPed to. I think I did good.

Something really funny happened a couple of days ago — smack right in the middle of New York Fashion Week. After the very intimate and lovely Muse Magazine dinner honoring Marina Abaramovic, I ended up violating my curfew and got oh-so-horribly intoxicated that my doorman personally brought me to the elevator like a crippled person. When I got to my door at around 3AM, I found myself locked out of my own apartment by leaving my keys INSIDE! My building’s superintendent (he keeps copies of tenants’ keys) wasn’t available until later in the morning. It didn’t help that my phone died and I don’t know anyone’s numbers by heart. Also, I could barely keep my eyes open let alone speak to anyone. So I ended up passing out on the lobby hallway. That’s right. On the floor. I woke up at around 8AM to the sounds of people’s footsteps as they left my building to go to work. When I opened my eyes, I saw people’s legs, shoes, more legs, even more ugly shoes and I heard voices. I honestly thought I had a bad dream and I wanted to wake up from it but alas, it’s all real. I stood up, wiped the dried drool off the side of my mouth, rubbed my eyes, went to the superintendent and finally got my door opened at long last.
Keys, cellphone, wallet and cigarettes. Never leave home without them.

I don’t usually do head-to-toe looks (no, seriously) but I guess it’s alright when you have very little time to decide what to wear and you’re on a mad dash. I wore a few things from Marni’s cute pre-fall collection and took these pics en route to the Rag & Bone spring/summer 2013 show.
