As some of you already know, I recently went to Italy a day before New York Fashion Week started to visit the headquarters of Italian accessories brand Furla. Housed in a historic, grand 18th-century Villa in Bologna, Furla President Giovanna Furlanetto personally gave me a tour of her world.

Furla is renowned around the world for accessible luxury — gorgeous bags and accessories that are practical, functional and consumer-friendly. It was a delight touring their offices, starting at the press and advertising offices down to their design studio where the heart and core of Furla is. I love the behind-the-scenes, insider view on how their bags are designed. I was impressed by Furla’s dedication to innovation. The now-iconic Furla Candy bag came in so many design renditions… my heart stopped when I saw one of the prototypes with fur in it. Here are several photos from my very quick visit.
