People always, always shake their heads in disbelief whenever I tell them I need to be home early the night before a Chanel show. It’s important for a girl to get a lot of sleep. Afterall, one has to wake up early. I like to go to the Grand Palais at least an hour before the show starts to see what the incredible Karl is up to. What I like about Chanel shows (at least the ones I’ve been to) is that you can guess the theme of the set based on the invitation. I had a hint that it’s going to be an aquatic set when I received mine. However, no amount of guessing or hinting can replace the actual experience of being there and seeing it for yourself. Karl and his team have always blown my mind (and expectations) away. They turned the Grand Palais into a magical ocean bed, complete with underwater creatures — octopus, seahorses, fish, clams, starfishes, etc.

I am so proud to say I was in that show, it was completely mind blowing. You are absolutely right, there’s is no possible clue or hint that can actually give you an idea of what you’re in for, it’s a complete experience, not just a fashion show. Karl Lagerfeld, is just too much, genius. Anna wasn’t as nice to me when I photographed her at Chloé, but well she already knows you. To her I must be just another annoying person that wants her pic, hahahaha. It was really nice talking to you by the way, I was glad to find out that you are a pretty cool and approachable guy. That’s not very usual in this industry specially when someone is as famous as you are. Amaxing setting as always. I have to admit that Karl Lagerfeld is the king (also) when it comes to making the scene of a runway show.
I would have loved to experience Grand Palais during one of the many spectacular shows that Karl himself have shown here. Maybe some day it will happen, but for now I can settle with just dreaming about it through your pictures <3
