Madame Paulette New York Dry Cleaners

Earlier this year before my grandmother passed away, I fought tooth and nail with a local dry cleaner who ruined one of my garments. They managed to rectify the damage they have done however, some of it is still visible. In the end, I got compensated half of what I asked for. Although it wasn’t the solution I wanted, it was better than nothing. A few friends told me I was lucky. Some dry cleaners won’t shell out a single penny; the most they’ll give you is a smile or a half-baked apology.

Anyway, I came across Madame Paulette’s website earlier this morning. They are based in New York and specialize in cleaning high-end clothes. Remember Melania Knauss in that ginormous, 50-pound Christian Dior haute couture wedding gown from the Empress Sisi/Fall-Winter 2004 collection?

Well, she commissioned Madame Paulette to restore her wedding gown. Watch this video. This is how they clean haute couture.

Isn’t it amazing how technologically-advanced dry cleaners are overseas? Madame Paulette had me on the blacklights! How I wish local dry cleaners are sophisticated like that.

    Decent drycleaners are so hard to find. Loved the video, it makes drycleaning look like some kind of forensic process!

  2. Garment-washing is always a nightmare… I don’t trust myself enough even to wash a 30$ t-shirt, so I have to bring them to the drycleaner… but I can’t stay quiet until I go back and check they’re ok!
    We should create a feedback site for drycleaners… and put on the blacklist all those who ruin clothes and don’t pay them back!
    Anyway, I’m looking for a good one in London and in NY (apparently, this one i just found)… any idea?

    Love you bryanboy,
    Lucy =)

    Oh my god! Intense! And somehow science fiction spy-like…

  4. Where did you get your clothes dry cleaned? What hotel is it? If you don’t mind sharing…

  5. I can’t find a fine dry cleaner here in Alabang. My old dry cleaner in Alabang town center (basement) just messed up my Zara long sleeves!!

    Haha this is a good one..made me laugh…this in Greece seems like fiction!!! Few weeks ago i gave to the what so called here “most professional” dry-cleaners chain store a light green bed cover…yes you read right. just a plain cotton bed cover…and i got it back with in some spots light yellow and some others frilled if you know what i mean.

  7. They saved an expensive coat of mine that had oil stains all over it. They’re expensive but totally worth it. You can ship your garments to them and they ship them back in perfect condition.

    The really take their jobs seriously. If they said they will do it, they really do it.
