Delightful.
Had these been done before we reprinted “The Art of the Russian Matryoshka” — the definitive book on the history, villages, fabrication, styles, and artists of the matryoshka — we would have beaten down doors to get photos of them in the book. Next printing, perhaps.

Nice Dolls. These type of dolls familiar in Inda. These dolls are a traditional art of a tribal area art in Kondapalli Village in the State of Andhra Pradesh in India. Kondapalli Wooden dolls are in Different forms. This is the same in one of their art.

I don’t speak/read Russian so I’m not sure what’s written there but I assume these dolls were made for Vogue Russia’s 10th year anniversary therefore you cannot buy them. :(
