Elbert's Steak Room, Makati

Elbert's Steak Room

As bitter as it sounds, I'm somewhat glad (oh who am I kidding) to be back in the cesspit of the third world called Manila. It's always nice to be home where I (don't) belong. Haha! ;)

There's no other way to celebrate the occasion than a scrumptious dinner with a friend at one of the country's finest steak houses: Elbert's Steak Room. Click click click!

My dinner partner for tonight is the jetset Mrs. T. aka The Bag Hag, who just got back from Tokyo, Paris and San Francisco. In a span of a month! LOL. Although we frequently chat online until the wee hours of the morning, we don't get to see each other that often because of our crazy schedules... not to mention I live wayyy too far from her. It's always, ALWAYS nice to see Mrs. T in flesh.

I *love* her Birkin and I love her Givenchy sandals!

In any case, I really look forward to the day I get out of the birdcage and have late-night meals in the city with friends.

Speaking of meals...

(I was too lazy to toy around with my camera settings so please forgive me with the quality of my photos).

... we started with a salad.

Followed by soup...

... and what I thought was the best steak I've had (so far) in this part of the world: USDA Super Prime Ribeye!

I kid you not when I say our steak was ENORMOUS!

I was so worried about not finishing my food...

thank god time is on our side.

We incessantly gabbed for hours until the lovely Mrs. L aka The Fash Pack (who I also haven't seen in months) joined our table.

Dessert was served (along with a bottle of champagne), compliments of the very generous house. Thank you so much, Liza and Elbert!

(I know right... I *hate* how I had such a wonderful, wonderful meal but my camera flaked on me this time.)

Time flies fast when you're in very good company but the Cinderella in me had a curfew so it was time to bid adieu. Excellent food aside, I was utterly impressed with the service.

I'm so glad I finally went to Elbert's, one of the finest restaurants in Manila, and I definitely look forward to visiting again.
