Please tell me the rumors are NOT true. This is insane!!!! China Daily is linking All-American butterface, the gold-medalist (8 golds this Olympic season so far) Michael Phelps to British model Lily Donaldson.

BEIJING, Aug. 16 -- American swimmer Michael Phelps , who has won seven golds in Beijing , became the most decorated athlete in Olympic history and received lots of love from female fans. But who is Phelps'girl?

Paparazzi reporters so far have pinpointed two girls as swimming prodigy Phelps' girlfriend. The first is Phelps' hot teammate Amanda Beard and the second is charming British model Lily Donaldson.

Lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!! If the rumors are true then good for Lily! Attention whores of the world unite! This is how supermodels are made anyway! The models of today have a lot to learn... I mean, if you have the looks, why not go for athletes, actors, powerful people etc? Look at all the old-school supermods -- they all have equally famous boyfriends etc. I highly doubt you've seen Naomi Campbell go out with a lanky teen back in her hey day -- the bitch went straight to that Flavio whatever Formula 1 guy, no?

I remember having a discussion with a friend how back in the old days, all the models were soo fabulous they all snorted cocaine, drank champagne, wore Alaia, flew by Concorde etc. Everything was soo glamorous back then. Now all the models now are emaciated 16 year old kids who look like they've never showered, flying economy and would walk the runway and do editorials for free... or for "trade". How times have changed eh?
