2008 Mastercard Luxury Week - Hong Kong
Mastercard Luxury Week kicks off in lovely Hong Kong tomorrow. This glamorous five-day event features by-invitation only fashion shows from the Fall/Winter 2008 collections of designers such as Jean Paul-Gaultier, Escada, Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Oscar de la Renta, Kenzo, Vera Wang and more. Wow.
I recently checked with Marc's assistant (I didn't wanna bother the big guy for such little question, especially with the Spring 2009 shows just a week away) to see if Marc will also attend but the answer, sadly, is no. However, Conde Nast Portfolio recently reported that Donna Karan will personally be there to recreate her Fall 2008 show.
Nevertheless, I think it's gonna be a great event. Hello -- Hong Kong, in my opinion, is one of the greatest shopping (and luxury) capitals in the world.
BTW dear reader, if you are participating on this year's festivities, will you please try to get a copy of Fashion Week Daily tomorrow... then if you have the time, scan/email it to me? IMG, the producer of this year's event, will publish a special FWD Hong Kong edition. I think I've got a mention there somewhere... haha :-) I *love* Fashion Week Daily!
Oh not, the master card thing is not gonna be mayjah, it's one of those mini co-op shows, not worth it. I mean when you have Gucci last friday, YSL on Thursday and I.T. multi brand on Sat at the newly opened W hotel, and many more to come within Aug-Sep, then you'd think 10 times before wasting your time to Master's, even at Four Season's, huh?!

Sad that Marc isn't coming... Would've requested for a pic of you too together at the event. That'd be ferosh!
