FEROCIA COUTURA
As y’all know, Paris haute couture ended a few days ago. While all the rich bitches of the world (and their token tranny and tag-along lap dogs) are still recovering from stomping around the majestic city of lights (and Le Depot), my Mexican buddy Mauricio and I (in our respective bedrooms in the third world, of course) went through hundreds and hundreds of photos of the fall 2008 couture collections.
Since haute couture is all about fantasy, my friend and I fantasized about being bajillionairesses on a shopping spree. We challenged each other to pick one, just one, outfit from the big couture houses. It has to be something that we love and would personally wear.

We reviewed our selections at the end of the challenge and I noticed I picked out two wedding gowns.

Our conversation went like this:
Me: What do you think of my selections? Be honest. What’s the best one and the worst one? Is it just me or do you also find this season disappointing?
Click click click!
Mauricio: Your Lacroix I like the best. Your Mouret I liked
the least but I also chose it cuz it’s the only passable thing. You
know, I actually thought your choices would be all eveningwear. like
the showiest ones. I’m surprised!
Me: True. LOL. Well, I
picked the Lacroix piece because I figured I need two wedding gowns.
The Elie Saab for Marc and the Lacroix for my wedding with _____.
Mauricio: hahahaha.
Me: Don’t worry. I’ll make sure I’ll marry in Dubai or some muslim country where polygamy is legal. Brunei perhaps? Hahahahaha!

Now… here are our selections. Mine are always on the left and Mauricio’s are on the right.
Chanel

Elie Saab
Yep. We both picked the wedding gown. LOL.

Christian Dior
Definitely one of my favourite collections this season.

Christian Lacroix

Armani Prive

Givenchy

Gaultier
Gaultier was a tough one. It wasn’t cohesive and IMO, it was a little bit too much.

Valentino
This is Alessandra Facchinetti’s first haute couture collection for Valentino. I love the collection as a whole however I’m not too keen on the architectural pieces like Mauricio… see below. My question: how can you sit in the outfit Vlada wore?

I find the Christian Lacroix collection FIERCEST. =) I love it!
You can definetly say I don’t take enough risks with fashion; but I prefer the Chanel collection over any of them.
Minimal, classic, and timeless.
Those bitches in the wedding gowns look like wicked dolls. Givenchy is so chic.
