Pepper Lunch, Rockwell Makati Philippines
Pepper Lunch
I've barely recovered from my Sydney trip (still haven't unpacked yet) but one of my closest friends invited me to dinner this weekend.

Click click click!
Originating from Japan, Pepper Lunch, is a chain of DIY do-it-yourself steakhouse restaurants. One of my closest friends fell in love with it so much during one of her trips to Singapore and now she's brought the franchise to the Philippines. She's been wanting to retire from fashion retail and Pepper Lunch is a great outlet for her to be busy.
Anyway, they're opening this week and she invited me and a few friends to do a little test-run with the staff.

Trying to decide what to get... so many choices, so little time.

Mmmmm look at all the choices. All of their beef are imported from Australia and New Zealand.

I'm always starving so I went straight to the steak! One shimofuri pepper steak s'il vous plait.

My friend slapped my wrist when I reached out for my wallet. Because we're lab rats for the night, I got a free meal. Yay for being human guinea pigs!

While waiting for my food to arrive, I took the liberty of taking photos throughout the restaurant. The interiors were designed by a Japanese firm who flew to Manila.

Pepper Lunch is surprisingly very spacious.

My food is here! The good thing about Pepper Lunch is that their steaks arrive raw and you cook it the way you like them done.

As you can tell, I already flipped mine out.

I like mine medium so it's tender and juicy on the inside.

Some of their super friendly staff. My friend says all bloggers are welcome! In fact, everyone -- that includes YOU, too -- is encouraged to take photos.

Renowned Filipino designer and Project Runway Philippines judge Rajo Laurel and his partner...

The elusive Mrs. T aka The Bag Hag and Daphne (congrats for winning the award!)

Mrs. T's gorgeous Louis Vuitton Richard Prince bag. Sooo tai-tai-rific!

Pepper Lunch will open sometime this week. I don't have the exact date but if you frequent the Rockwell area, be sure to check it out.

The pepper lunch I go to in Yokohama is not so popular because it was side by side with a ridiculously good ramen-an. We only go there
when the lines in the ramen house is too long.
They gave us drink coupon after eating there to encourage you to come back. Cheapest meal is about 500-600yen (which is about 200 to 250 pesos) 1000 yen meals are already good. but those come without drinks.
But I haven't checked out the price of shimofuri(marbled) steak.
(Some) Japanese look down on Australian and New Zealand beef. When I told them we have Australian beef here my boss made a face.

Brian I hope you post this for the health information of your readers regarding diet softdrinks like coke and pepsi.
Thank anyway!
Yeah me too, i hate coke zero and Diet coke because these softdrinks company are not promoting the health of the Filipino people, why? because diet softdrinks like coke and pepsi contain aspartame
that poisons one's health (ex. cancer).
Just google aspartame and you will be shocked
at the result and harmful effects it can do to our helath. I wonder why our Food and Drug Administration allows this? can anyone tell me?
According to researchers and physicians studying the adverse effects of aspartame, the following chronic illnesses can be triggered or worsened by ingesting of aspartame:(2) Brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, chronic fatigue syndrome, parkinson's disease, alzheimer's, mental retardation, lymphoma, birth defects, fibromyalgia, and diabetes.
Aspartame is made up of three chemicals: aspartic acid, phenylalanine, and methanol.
Thanks BRB because through your blog, people can be informed to a lot of important issues!
