Canon G9 Camera
It’s about time I put my trusty 2-year old camera to retirement. Everyone I know seems to have a Canon G9 Camera
so I finally bit the bullet and ordered one today. I’m no professional photographer and I don’t need fancy schmancy features. I’m not the type who fiddles around with settings and crap so good luck to me. It’s funny how people always assume I’m a “techie” when I know absolutely nothing when it comes to gadgets and shit.

I should get my new camera any day now and I hope I made the right choice. I’ve had Sony digital cameras for years. I think now is a good time to try Canon. We’ll see. :-)

Fabulous fabulous cam! My brother has an entry-level DSLR while I use this and photos are comparable! Sometimes he borrows mine when he doesn’t wanna lug around lenses, etc. Auto/Program mode does wonders but has full manual and creative controls too :)
Hey BB, how much is it costing you there, I’m comparing the prices in as many places as I can, so far , without tax, it come sin cheapest in Belgium, I thought it would have been Oz, or singapore, but it was most expensive at London duty free,and coming in second was at Singapore duty free, Singapore duty free was even more expensive than normal price in Sydney

my sony camera is really old too. i’ve been using it for 4 years and although it’s still great for movies, the picture quality is just… blah. well it was great 4 years ago but now it’s… :(

nice cam i always wanted to get a cannon or sony. but im lovin my casio ex-z8 for now. 8.1 mp is not that bad.
Good choice, a lot of pros carry this as a second camera, can even be used with a proper flash unit! Do try and explore the features a bit though, it’s an extremely capable camera.
Hear that, Bryanboy? Be sure to get a CANNON, with 2 Ns. Sort of like that one in Corregidor perhaps? Hahaha! And take a photo with your single N, third world variety “fake” Canon.
good camera, a lot special futures. also it has pre-set shooting easy modes, so you’ll be fine..
by the way, you might need to exercise before, because it is a bit heavy.

poor ferroever. it’s him/her who’s been buying fakes all this time without a CLUE! i knew his/her suggestion to spell “real” canon’s with double n’s there was something amiss you i looked that up. looked up chanel as well. the poor fool.
A friend of mine has that camera. I borrowed it the other day and it was really easy to use. just point and shoot! plus the transfer to a computer was smooth and quick. Im actually thinking to get one too! let us know how u like it once u get it!

I really want to get this too. It somehow looks like those old Canons form the 80′s! Almost vintage looking! It would nice to have an old looking clunker sometimes, but deliver great digital photos.
Just make sure it’s spelt with a double ‘n’. Cos the fake ones only have one ‘n’.

And with you living in the Third World where fakes are rife, well, I hope and pray that you don’t get ripped off with one of the fake ‘Canons’.
Very good choice – if you were not getting this, I would have suggested the Ricoh GX100. The G9 takes pics with very good resolution I must say, also good movie quality. But since you don’t really care much about having good results even at low ISO settings (which this camera can do), this is one of the best right now for point-and-shoots. I have been using mine since Christmas and no regrets. With 12.1 mp, you can’t go wrong – I’m sure you’ll be happy with it. Just hope you didn’t pay for the full price at this time.
