Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2008-2009 Bags

I love the new Marc Jacobs bags! Gone are the quilts, the patent leathers, the chains and the gloss. This is major gorgeousness right here. The shapes are so nice and so are the leathers. With the it-bag declared dead (Fashionista even reported "nobody wants to carry one, buy one, or talk about how they can’t get one.") and people aren’t spending as much as they used to and all these fears about recession going on, it makes perfect sense to "acquire" a classic bag that will get you some mileage longer than a season. This is where the new Marc Jacobs bags come in.

The green ostrich is my favourite out of all of these but it’s so out of my $reach$. This one is my 2nd top choice.

Not too keen on the black especially how the handles were positioned differently but it’s nice to see a variation.

Here are some clutches…

And there you have it!

I can’t wait to learn what the bag names are going to be. Marc is known to name his bags after models but he started naming his bags after people who are close to him, like the Robert and Duffy bags for Spring 2008.

the green and the yellow ones are definitely hot. the rest? i’ve seen better crap at Target.

so are you thinking that marc jacobs might name one of his bags after you? maybe the bag for you will be the green ostrich…

  3. Wishful thinking much? LOL. The chances of Marc naming a bag after me are slim to none, hello I’m only a lowly blogger, don’t be silly. :-) I don’t think he even named a bag after Jason Preston or someone influential like Anna. Don’t you think they’d get top priority first?
Now that we’re daydreaming… he better not name the ostrich bag after me because if he does, there is no way I could afford that bag. I’m sure it’s more than $6K. Ostrich is super $$$. There is nothing more ridiculous than having something named after you and then you’re not able to buy it. Hahaha!

YOU’RE A MAN. A MAN SHOULDN’T CARRY A HANDBAG. just become a girl already. sheesh.

  5. I wouldn’t take the advice of anyone that uses the word “fashionista” too seriously. A good accessory will always be a major – not to mention coveted – statement piece.

  6. I’m sure if he were to name it after you then he would send you the first one or runway sample with a note. Something like: “Thanks for being a muse. Enjoy the BB bag!”

  7. Congratulations BB. Not that you weren’t before, but you are def on the map now!!!!
