Prada Prada Prada + Men’s Tutus!!!

MIUCCIA PRADA IS WAVING THE SISSYFICATION FLAG!!!!! God damn I love Prada. Have you seen her latest collection? You know there’s something up in the air when one of the world’s most innovative, fashion-forward tastemakers go on a kooky runway spree. Amazing! Swan lake, is dat chu? Bolshoi theatre, anyone?

From the metallic and jacquard trousers and the mini tutus to the white
shirt cuffs, the skin-coloured sweaters and the cut-out collars etc. I love sooo many things from this collection. I really do.

Click click click!

I love the mini tutus!!!!! This is progress, my dear minions! I could see myself in one of them sweaters, that mini skirt with nothing else but a plain black thong, some st. tropez fake tan on my legs and a pair of flip flops. Hah!

To be honest with you, I’m not sure about the message she is trying to send with this collection. I saw all the looks and there’s NOT a single coat, NOT a single scarf, NOT a single winter hat in sight — a complete turnaround from her brilliant Fall 2007 collection with the caveman coats. Is this a new way of winter dressing? Is this her response to the global warming chu chu bells crap? I dunno… but I friggin love it!

I can’t wait to hear the reaction of the usual suspects how a man should dress up like a "man" and such.

ANYWAY…

The white shirt cuffs underneath the sweater is also lovely. Such a chic combination, no? I know it’s crazy but I keep on noticing all these little details which I love!

Touch my bum, don’t be shy. Touch my bum, this is life! Cheeky cheeky!

The skin-coloured sweater gives the illusion you are naked from afar.

I’m not too keen on the halter-bibs to be honest.

Is that a pocket or a zipper?

All in all, I love this collection from Prada. I think she’s a genius. It would be interesting to see how this translates on the retail level. That tutu is mine!!!

  1. look at that fucking clutch at the last picture. good for evening affairs. one condom and a sachet of lube. that’s all it will be able to contain.

  2. Looks like she has a whole backwards thing going. That’s not a pocket, I think that’s where the zip is…
Did she run out of time? Unattached multiple collars, inside out underwear…looks like something from Project Runway!

  3. Luigi, ANY and ALL posts that you see on this site, bryanboy.com is made by me and only me. No one is allowed to blog on this site unless I invite them to be a guest blogger (and will be identified so).
And for your reference, out of all the replies I received, I have not picked an intern yet. ;-)
Weevil, it doesn’t look like a zipper to me. I think it’s a pocket — I’m not sure either. But yes, if you look a few photos above it, look at the trousers of the one wearing a blue shirt with buttons on the back. Then look at the belt area. You’ll see there’s two closures on each side of the back.

  4. i haven’t loved a men’s prada collection in a long time, but i am swooning over this. i think it is divine and has a lot to offer intellectually, without compromising on what clothes are meant to do and be: ie make one beautiful and stylish. the styling is really fantastic.
sadly, i don’t think it will be a successful collection as the men in america, which is the largest menswear market, will not like it. hence determining its fate as a failure. what do you think american men they will make of the ‘halter’, the back-buttoning shirts and the ‘man-kini’?
seriously, i don’t see too many men, either gay or straight buying the stronger and more directional looks and pieces.

  6. badprada

This collection is like Prada’s biggest low ever, the whole gender-bender thing is so old, even Dior Homme has moved on. They make all their profits from bags and accessories and Prada sport stuff probably, so they can do what the hell they like with runway.. i.e. make it all vile.

  7. I get the drama/joke but i really DON’T like this collection. Far too gimmicky, looks like costume. I just don’t get the styling- KL was right, it looks like project runway outfits gone wrong. It’s all those novelty details and accessories, so wrong. But then again, who dares challenge Miuccia?

  8. WHY WHY WHY do i hear random audio visiting your site Bryanboy!!? I can’t find where it’s coming from- maybe one of your shit adverts gone wrong? It’s driving me nuts cos I’m trying to listen to internet radio. Sort it out!

  9. It’s not about what a “man” should wear. It’s about the unfinished sloppy look that is so unprofessional. I hate this collection.

  10. talula, i think this is one of the more ‘classic’ ( and by that i mean by prada standards) collections of prada. shirts, trousers, suits, the staples of classic menswear are all there but she has subverted them.
i don’t find anything sloppy about the pieces. unusually juxtaposed, yes, but there is nothing ‘sloppy’ in my eyes per se.

  11. I want to know

Can you please tell us where you find these high definition runway pictures? I need to know.

  12. I love this new collection. Why shouldn’t a men wear a back-buttoned shirt, a miniskirt over the pants or a flat-front trouser? since womans wear everythong from dress, pullovers, shirts, dresses, skirt and whatever. so its time that a man could also wear clothes which are also interesting.

  14. First i love this new collection, why shouldn’t a men wear a back-buttoned shirt a miniskirt or a side zip-trouser? since womans wear everythong from dress, pullovers, shirts, dresses, skirt and whatever. so its time that a man could also wear clothes which are also interesting.

  15. beniamino

bbella bbella bbella… mi piace moltissimo la culotte spalma tarzanelli…la trovo geniale e molto utile

  16. This is the worst clothes i have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wy dont ppl just make somthing that you can wear out on a saturda night!! becous if you wear this clothes you are going to have the shit smacked out of ya!!

  17. The Prada collection was particularly head-scratching. Miuccia presented a collection that included high waisted underwear, tutu’s and shirts that button up in the back.
Oh Miucia! What kind of smoke is being toked at the House of Prada?

  18. Weeeard'ooohs

Ok….WTF is this s**t??? can you make this guys look more like girls? What happened to the masculine appeal? This models (and collection) looks like a bunch of girls pretending to be guys. Next time just dress a bunch of girls with pants and call it Mensware…
