Wicked – Defying Grafity

Wicked – Defying Gravity

You know, I’ve never really been one of them theatre/broadway fags. Musicals aren’t really my cup of tea and I know absolutely nothing about them. What do you expect from an uncultured third world fag eh? I once saw Rent in London back in the dark ages and I spent half the time on trips to the bar and get myself drunk on gin tonic. My friend was so pissed cause he worked so hard to get us fantastic seats. But yeah, after watching the latest episode of Ugly Betty, I googled something and next thing you know, Wicked is my new obsession du jour!

Sing after me: Something has changed within me. Something is not the same. I’m through with playing by the rules of someone else’s game. Too late for second-guessing, too late to go back to sleep. It’s time to trust my instincts, close my eyes and leap. It’s time to try defying gravity… I think I’ll try defyyyyyyyyyyyyyinngggggggg gravity. And you can’t pull me down.

Oh look is that my scrotum falling off? How appropriate for all that aging hoolabaloo crap that’s bogging me down these days. LOL!

  1. We watched Wicked a couple of months and it was a really great experience. The girl who played Glenda was more bubblier than the original one casted when it was in New York (she’s now on a tv show Pushing Daisies). Its definitely a show worth seeing. We’re planning to see it again and hopefully catch a different cast to get a somewhat different experience/feel of the show.
Search the Popular song on youtube. I played out that song too much. Yes its very gay but who cares.

  2. Hey BB. I loooove wicked! Glinda (Kristin Chenoweth) actually guested as Ugly Betty’s Dentist (I’m not sure, maybe a dental assistant?) in the first season. Haha. I don’t know if she did in the second season. Haven’t watched it. Anyway, her voice is kind of annoying, but I still like her. I like Elphie (Idina Menzel) better, though. =)

I saw the LA production two weeks ago. Spectacular special effects, the music though is not as powerful as it’s fellow nominee, Avenue Q, which deservedly won Best Musical at the Tony Awards the year they were nominated.
Idina Menzel is one great Broadway actress. And winning the Best Actress in a Musical for “Wicked” finally validated that talent. Kristin Chenoweth is more known for her comedic skills.

I’ve been obsessed with Wicked for almost a year now. Welcome to the club, BB! ;-) The other songs in the show are great as well.
