Double Trouble: House of Holland vs Proud Race
Double Trouble: House of Holland vs Proud Race

House of Holland on Proud Race
OH. MY. GOD. Andale andale andale! BOY OH BOY BRYANBOY you are sooo gonna get your ass fried on this one. Whose side are you on, get yer freak on Giles Deacon? Don't shoot the messenger! Click click click!
There once was a boy called Henry, (Whose taste was somewhat bendy…), With a pash for fash, And all things flash, He was quite the talk of the trendy.
One day Henry had an idea, And a genius one it was clear, For a range of t-shirts, That were so hip they hurt, "Anna Wintour'll love 'em", he cheered!
So he set about thinking of slogans, That the fash crowd would lap up like no-one's, His fave celebs, Designers (and plebs), None were safe, and he had so much fun!
That's how House of Holland was born, (on the name he never was torn), "Buy this Coleen!", His first t-shirt screamed, And so Heat magazine got on board…
The rest, as they say, is history, And there really is no great mystery, If you want to be cool, At work, play or school, Better snap one up pretty damn swiftly!

I was bloghopping the other day and found Chuvaness' blog entry about tees designed by Proud Race. I thought they looked strangely familiar -- to the tees designed by Henry Holland of House of Holland -- a name that is all the rage in Europe.
I first heard of Henry via my English boy friend (and the original "I LOVE BRYANBOY" mascot, my one-way ticket to Ascot) Alex (I still can't get over your little Perez moment betch. You owe me a good rogering.) on September last year. They both studied at the same university and they're buddies yaddi yaddi yadda. WHY AM I DISCLOSING MY FRIENDS' LIVES ON MY BLOG? BLAH. ENOUGH. I REALLY HAVE NO SELF-CONTROL.
Anyway, to cut the story short, they're friends blah blah blah yaddi yaddi yadda. Alex and I talk pretty much every day so on our conversation yesterday, I mentioned the tees designed by Proud Race, telling him it was soo familiar to the ones made by Henry, who, according to Alex, just got back from Brighton. So off went Alex to Henry and bam, wham bam.
*shudder*
Let's do a little comparison and a little guessing game. You know, who made what etc. I mean, what the hell, they pretty much feature the same thing -- the similar fonts, the colors, the slogans, the names, etc.

Ooooh it's the oh-so-famous Iekeliene!!!!!

Today is sponsored by the letter P. P stands for.... pain?

The world loves Iekeliene alright... I know I do. I really do.

House of Holland tees are currently being sold at the Pineal Eye and Dover Street Market in London, Seven and Barneys in New York, Colette in Paris, Ambush in Singapore and Dover Street Market in Tokyo. Henry's tees run at around £35. As for Proud Race, a brand based in the third world aka Philippines, sell theirs on their website for around US$10. Judging from PR's website, it looks like they are new. Like Chuvaness, I personally have no idea who's behind it.
I should do a contest between the two of em. First one to come out with a "FUCK OFF LADYBOY BRYANBOY" neon pink tee-shirt with a yellow lettering wins an oreo cookie and a kiss on the cheek from me.
Blah!
